    Chimney pointing & guttering question

We've had heavy rain last couple of days, so will get the ladders out & see what it like. I might be able to get on the roof from other side of house because it's lower, if i can't or don't feel confident about doing it i will get someone in to have a look at it. At least i will be able to get...

    Chimney pointing & guttering question

Thanks for replying Blup. Never noticed "insert gutter here" whilst up there. Is it feasible to cut a couple of bits of guttering & glue them in or would i need to buy a complete section to fit properly?

    Chimney pointing & guttering question

Haven't been up as far as the guttering before & noticed a couple of things i am concerned about. Some of the mortar on the chimney has fallen out, could that let in the rain? Probably know the answer already. There is a join in 2 sections of the gutter & the joining bit is slightly lower...

Ideas for an budget outside space please

Used to be a pond at one time. It catches the sun too quite late in the day, so was thinking about turning it into a seating area with a couple of steps up to it Cheapest way of doing it? There are tree stumps in the corner, is it possible to somehow make it into a table? There are more tree...

    Budget sander under £50

The wife wants to sand down a large coffee table. What type of sander is better, a random one or standard one. Don't want to spend too much, as won't be used much(I think) Many thanks.

    Adding inhibitor to radiator

Hi, i have this rad in bathroom. I have a sealed system. I am going to be putting another one in bedroom back on wall after decorating room. Putting the old one back in bedroom & opening valves to refill it, would enough water drain out of one bathroom to be able to add inhibitor to it. If...

Internal window cill new paint cracked

Redecorating it & painted cill. I rubbed down to bare wood & put 2 X coats of Zinser cover stain, followed by 2 x coats of Dulux Trade high gloss oil based paint. No heating in room yet & been fairly cold. Everything went well until 2nd coat of gloss & it has cracked in one area. I assume i...

Room skimmed but am i being picky

Had ceiling reboarded & skimmed+ all walls. It's mostly the internal corners & a couple of other places I not entirely happy with. Some of the internal corners, but not all feel rough to touch. Theres a couple of more bits too. I think the finish should be better but wanted to run it past the...

    Another plastering quote question

I'm not quibbling on the price as such, it was just the length of time the job would take. It's going to be pot luck which one i pick, see what the next one says tomorrow.
