putting two lights onto 1 switch

Nah, its the mrs, she likes the dull tone of old energy saving bulbs. She just doesnt like the crisp white of the overhead fancy halogen thingy from the big shed. I just hope with a little bit dimmer light over head i can read whilst she knits. Its rock and roll round our place!

Hi all a bit of an odd one. The woman moans about the lights being to bright, so was going to install a dimmer switch. We have 3 switches in the lounge, all 2 way, two wall, and one overhead. However ultimate dont seem to do a 3 gang switch for a single back box. I was thinking i could...

Dust Extractor Pre-Seperator / Dust Commander

Well they refunded it this morning, can't say fairer than that.. Two buckets silicones together works really well, and it doesn't totally deform.

Dust Extractor Pre-Seperator / Dust Commander

Sent the email earlier, so will keep my fingers crossed. I need to find a better bucket. I put a clean bag in and cleaned the filters and it crushed the bucket. I have stuck another bucket around it with silicone hopefully that will make it stronger. Will add some updates

Dust Extractor Pre-Seperator / Dust Commander

Hi I finally bit the bullet an bought a cyclone, to build a drop box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1Wu9PlzXX8 I made a little video of it up and running with a bit of plaster dust to see how well it was working. Maybe someone will find it useful. :D

    Random alarm triggers

Hi all, I have had a couple of random triggers of my burglar alarm. It's a g4 accenta mini. It doesn't log a fault code, and the date and time on the key pad needs resetting. The fault seems to coincide with a resetting of the cooker clock, the funny thing is the cooker hasn't tripped...

Ariston Boiler cycling on and off with Hot water

Hi, I'm not quite sure whats going with the boiler. Basically i can hear the fan and boiler firing up running for a minute then switching off, then firing up and switching off when running the hot water. It doesnt seem to be a problem when using the shower as we get continuous hot water...

    Router Bush size

hi tried this, ther is quite a bit of space in the slot, i think a 30mm bush would also rattle around. I think i might practice on a bit of ply and see what happens.

    Build over agreement

I personally would do exactly as you have done, your buying the house and you want to know what you are buying, liability included. In fact if you didn't do this you would be a fool! Houses are expensive, it's not a 500 quid car! And let's face it no one looks out for you like your self...

    Build over agreement

Thats an interesting document. The transfer of ownership is one reason water companies put up their prices. It seem inconceivable that they would be allowed to transfer the liability back to the home owner. I guess it depends if it was built to building regs at the time, if it was the cost...

    Build over agreement

I am not a lawyer. These are questions you need to ask of Wessex Water. At the end of they day you need to decide if its a risk you are willing to take. The fact that wessex now have the responsibility for the upkeep of the drain i do not understand what risk you have? Write to Wessex...

    Build over agreement

There was no necessity for a build over agreement in 1994 on a lateral drain you owned. Currently wessex water have adopted all lateral drains, they are now in there ownership regardless of what happened before. Wessex water own the drain, the previous occupants do not. The build over...

    Build over agreement

If its 1994 i doubt you have any concerns. The adoption of drains is about lateral drain ownership. Previously lateral drains are owned by the property owner. I wouldnt let this deter you from a purchase. Its Wessex waters problem not yours...
