    Combi/Unvented

On any given day 2 people might want a shower straight after each other. The others will take theirs throughout the day. As long as the hot water lasts 10 mins for me, that's fine!

Hence a second pump When you say second pump, do you mean having this in addition to the one that would be part of the boiler? Didn't realise 2 could be run in line

    Combi/Unvented

Dan, I take your point on board but an £800 cylinder just because it has back up doesn't win it. I have a back up electric shower and a kettle!! Terry, calculations aside as the boiler output for the heating would need to be matched to the right boiler in either case. It's just the hot water...

    Combi/Unvented

Ok so I need a new boiler. I'm not not sure if I will get away with a combi or if Ill need an unvented cylinder. given my property, I'm guessing most would jump in and say unvented straight away. So you can get a rough idea, the property was once 2 x 3 bedroom semis but is now a 5 bed...

DHW retro fit kits to convert System Boiler to Combi Boiler

Mike Did you ever get round to doing this? I did it with a 28KW gas system boiler. When heating is on, there is hardly any delay in hot water to the taps but I can confirm, as others suggested, that with boiler cold, the delay is quite long. In fact reason I'm on forum is looking for ideas...

    Hot water issue

So, I have a gas system boiler(Trianco Optima 28SB) that's in a y-plan set up but rather than heating a cylinder for hot water, it goes through an external plate heat exchanger to act like a combi. Now when the heating is on, and then HW is demanded, HW comes out hot quite quickly. When...

Cheers. Bought one today so will try this at weekend

    High pressure heating only

Ah, after reading another thread, wondering if my expansion vessel is not big enough. I've only recently converted it to a "combi" as was feeding a heat bank before. So have had problem since convert as system was not pressurized before. My reasoning is that it is feeding a house conversion...

    High pressure heating only

I have a system boiler that is now plumbed in as a combi using an external PHE. So the flow goes from the boiler into a 3 way valve. One port serves the rads and the other port feeds into the heat exchanger and back to the boiler. Problem I have is when calling for heating, pressure gets as...

    taps required

Want to fit an independent shower over an already fitted bath. Don't want controls to be part of the bath filler as this is mounted in the middle. So looking for on/off and temperature control valves that I can mount on the bath with a 1/2" outlet also mounted on the bath that I can...

    Tanking

Cheers for reply. Don't intend removing pink pb as its the sound proofing board with insulation on the back. So its really just the one wall I'll be boarding

    Tanking

I'm replacing a bath with 1200 x 800 shower. Old tiles are off walls. The wall that is the shorter side of the shower and will have the controls is ply upto about half height. The rest was plasterboard but came off with the tiles. The longer side wall is made of the pink soundproofing board...

    QAA 73 Controller

Damn I keep looking on ebay but never seems to be any when i look. Had been using Danfoss TP75a with TS2 remote sensor before I converted it. Any controller like this could have been used as it connects to the room start terminal on the boiler rather than where the QAA73 connects. Soon I...

    QAA 73 Controller

Yes, mine is the same with a few bits remove to make it a system boiler. Ecoflame was where I got a new probe from but worries me I'm going to come unstuck one day. I remember flue parts being a problem when it was original installed. Yes flame more a glow that you can see. Mine's...

Thanks one again. Well have left it in "ports reversed" at moment and implemented wiring as per diagram and as expected, all looking good. Think I will put ports back though as there was a noticeable delay in moving the valve when HW demanded.

You are right once again...I'm going mad. Will implement this now but think I would like to swap them back again at some point 1. to conform what would be expected 2. to get the edge on DHW speed (doesn't have to move port across) 3. In summer valve being held open meaning likely to...

Have 2nd relay now. Going to need to put back the ports to original positions to implement Matt's diagram. I have the valve mounted vertically, does it matter which way up it goes? Installation manual shows port A (heating) at top. I'm thinking it shouldn't matter but thought I read somewhere it...

Boiler is 28kw Stem - almost there! Heating circuit ok. When hot water demanded, all switches over ok. However, it is then held in that state when hot tap is closed. It holds +ve condition on Orange, white and grey
