Thanks Chris, I think we just found a way to get it along the skirting.. with a bit of a wiggle and a jiggle. :) I would though like to know what the regulation is in having water pipes near electrics if anyone knows.

Have no choice.. it's either the pipes go there behind the units and exposed slightly here in this small section which will be behind cooker or they run right around the entire upper ceiling and then down to the floor again which looked hideous. There's too much other plumbing and gas pipes...

Is it ok to put water pipes running horizontally pinned to the wall a few inches above these sockets before kitchen goes in? (wall will be tiled)

Thank you ELF.. the tiling was already done actually but they screwed it up and it all had to be chipped off. The sockets are what remain. New white covers will be used but they need to reposition the boxes behind first. Much appreciated.

Ah ok.. so either right up close touching or with a gap big enough to get a slither of tile in there. Thank you.. will tell them to correct them. Oh, that will mean they have to remove the white covers, take put the metal box frames and chase out the wall to reposition them right?

Electrician fitted these supposedly brand new sockets and switches waiting to be tiled around. Are they not meant to have some distance so a strip of tile can be put between the units instead of this awful toothpaste blob of mastic to fill the gap? Are they meant to be this close? What should...
