You're the bearer of good news as always mate, I remember you helping me last time. It is laminate thank Christ, I had plenty of time to think it through so can't put it down to a momentary lapse of retardation. I even filled it with concrete... I'll fit the floor as though it isn't there...

Inspection chamber cover big mistake - HELP

I have fitted this new cover but there is going to be timber flooring on top of the concrete floor + underlay. Should I have fitted the cover to be proud of the floor? I feel like crying the amount of work that's gone into this. How can I rectify?

Fitting a new INTERNAL inspection chamber cover

Job done. I filled the hole with bags to catch mortar and rubble because I had to break out 65mm depth (for the cover) + 40mm for a new concrete bed, so around 100mm. I removed the cover completely when fitting the frame to avoid getting dirty. Sadly I didn't take on board what simonjay...

Fitting plasterboard & lime plaster issue

Two question, I've got a stone wall with a timber stud adjacent to it. I'm boarding the timber stud with 12.5mm plasterboard and I've reached the section where the stud meets the wall. The wall is stone so not even remotely flat. It had a layer of old 20mm lime that I have removed because...

    Insulating studwork

Thanks. Had to go with the flexi in the end as didn't have time to order in the sheeting, and don't have a large enough car to transport. Perhaps psychological but installed most of the flexi today and it actually feels warmer in that immediate area. Sensed a change in reverberation as...

    Insulating studwork

Ok, well really I'm after thermal, I'm not that concerned about acoustic because the suspended timber floor above will be soundproofed. Rockwool do something called a rockfloor for acoustic, I was going to use this in conjunction with acoustic PB and dense underlay for the floor but haven't...
