    Additional boiler to outbuilding

Sounds great, lets just focus on the combi option, what combi would be ideal considering sporadic usage, i would also like to consider an option to cotrol the heating/boiler wirelessly so the heating can be controlled from the main house. thanks for all your help

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

His comment was i looked at your mains gas pipe coming in and its 'fine' (trench dug up), i am still waiting to receive the GT1 survey report. Would you care to share those 'other options'? Thanks

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

I guess thats the best way to describe it, i would not mind putting 24KW combi, my question was would (generally) the gas supply is sufficinet to support 2 boilers and a gas cooker? (one system, other combi).

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

Oh well, what can i say, i am guided by the expert. I am not too concern about what i want, trying to understand what I need given my requirements. No its not a granny flat, it’s a multipurpose 7x7M outbuilding with a separate bathroom and a gym room.

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

I didn't think i needed 24KW boiler, i was advised by the plumber/HE that i need 24KW boiler. Is there a way to work out gas vs electric cost effectiveness?

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

I guess that was the intention at the outset, available vs requirement, we know the requirement, 24KW boiler, enough to serve additional CH/HW requirements.

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

Thanks Tony What size smaller heat only boiler? Did not realise that it would be simpler and cost effective to have a new supply and pay the standing charges. Gas there so we can have CH and ho shower Shower facility. Nothing against leccy, dont think electricity cheaper option.

    Additional boiler to outbuilding

Hello, Am getting new outbuilding (about 25M away from the main building) built. I would like to take gas and water to the outbuilding. My question concerns is would our current meter/gas pressure could support additional boiler (hot water/heating) or we need to consider upgrading the gas...

    UFH and Outbuilding

Thanks Tony, i guess you suspected my liking for UFH, the combo approach is a good compromise. I was willing to let go UFH becaues I like wood flooring and realise that UFH/wood flooring is not an ideal combination so naturally thinking that by ditching the UFH I could go for the wood flooring...

    UFH and Outbuilding

Thanks Andrew, i guess the GSHP is out of the equation on both front, available area of land/cost. Yes agree with your logic, it certainy make sense to have more UFH pipe per m² in the bathroom. I am now leaning towards the traditional rads, yes change of heart here :-), considering we needed to...

    UFH and Outbuilding

Tony you have not given up on traditional rads, i guess evidence here suggest that we go back to the drawing board and look at the feasibility of UFH once again. Surprise by the fact that 'Heat pump will always be more expensive than gas', i guess like many things, this is also a hype! I let...

    UFH and Outbuilding

Yes Andrew i guess 49M2 would have to be divided in to multiple zones, i am looking to achieve max efficiency. Great, i will pay more attention to Ground source, i have the space (20M), assume there is enough evidence out there which justify the spend?

    UFH and Outbuilding

Thanks Tony i appreciate what you are getting at, slightly off topic but still relevant. Does the expert think the heat pumps (air/ground) is matured technology to be considered cost effective option for firing the UFH?

    UFH and Outbuilding

Thanks Andrew, yes i am hoping to utilise the new technology (remote/net controls) so its encouraging to know that wet UFH could be an option, we are looking at wet room for the shower so UFH would be ideal. Any recommendations for (49M2 coverage) wet UFH system combined with remote/net controls?

    UFH and Outbuilding

Thanks Tony, yes we are convinced that the usage will be heavy comes winter or summer. The new build is adjacent to existing garage (double) so we are thinking to adding couple of rads to garage while the garage is also getting insulated/facelift as part of renovation. As for the combi boiler...
