    Matching exterior work

Guys Our current exterior walls are pebbledash finish, something we don’t like. We are currently getting our extension done under PD and would really like to have new exterior finish with red bricks. Our consent letter from the council says that all materials used in any exterior work shall...

    Roof lantern under PD

I tried my best to decipher above but no luck, referred to Wikipedia and got this: Eh? is a play by Henry Livings. I then tried to consult Morse code and that prove hopeless as well! So back to you.

    Roof lantern under PD

Thats a good start, can the roof be structured in a way that the bit where lantern needs to go is less than 4m high and the rest of the roof remains 4M high? I guess i need to have 4M high clearance to get my beloved pitched at the sides!

    Roof lantern under PD

Thanks Tony for your prompt response. When you say the lantern makes the overall height over 4m, believe you are not referring to the whole roof, just the area (2Mx1.5M) of the roof where the lantern will be installed? cheers

    Roof lantern under PD

Guys Going through our single story rear extension under PD (6M), total covered area approx. 33SQM. I understand that max height for the roof under PD is 4M, we are thinking of getting a roof lantern (3Mx1.5M) installed. The lantern will sit on the flat roof without up stand so that part of the...

If the Running costs are negligible then i can overcome the space and initial cost. While you appear quite knowledge with the subject so let me ask you something which making me go round in circles. As you can see from the above setup that I will have cluster of thermostats (3 zones UFH, HW...

Help needed to design energy efficient solution

Thanks Dan/Ivor for your input. I guess i rule out the switch option, like Dan said you would not want to void the cylinder warranty. Does it make sense to have over size boiler now knowing that within couple of years we have loft conversion planned? Does it cost lot more if you have over...

Help needed to design energy efficient solution

Thanks Ivor your post, wow what a shrewd yet simple solution, i would like to take a look at that, can we have this dual stats on Vaillant unvented cylinder or this option is specific to a cylinder? Secondly can i know more about this swap switch/installation etc? Cheers

Help needed to design energy efficient solution

Thanks fo your response/help Well thats what Vaillant website suggested, no prefrence really. Yep, that would have been ideal, i checked the zone limit and realised that its best to opt for 3 zones as the coverage is approx 6x5.5 so it would be best to split that zone. Any thoughts on...

Help needed to design energy efficient solution

Guys looking at energy efficient CH/HW/Wet-UFH would you consider below mentioned items as part of efficient system? The items required for a 3 bed house with one bath and 3 shower units, ideally mains fed. We have used Vaillant boiler before and are happy with that so we would like to stay with...

    Upgrade new mains water supply

If i were to choose this option and lets say i would go for 50mm pipe from meter to the kitchen then how effective that would be to increase the water pressure? I guess above implies that i need the local water company to do the upgarde from the pavement to the meter, approx 10 meter...
