    Anyone any idea where it is or what they are using eg. heated rear screen? There isn't one visible outside the car and the reception in the Forest of Dean is rubbish. 1997 Alhambra 1.9TD if it makes any difference.

    A lot might depend on the quality of the pads fitted in the first place. I'm no expert on brake pads but on my motorbike I've found some wild variations in performance and wear. One (Armstrong) was fine in the dry but had no stopping power in the wet.
