Did this house fire REALLY start because of a turned off Air fryer OR faulty wiring?

Yes, the ones with a mechanical timer, switch completely off, when the timer runs out.

Electric heater plug just exploded - what would have caused that?

I don't understand how it passed PAT, it appears to have unsleeved pins on the plug. Sleeved pins rule, predates the PAT. What seems to have happened, is a flash-over between live and neutral pins, internally. The socket, needs to be replaced, and the heater recycled - likely it would pass a...

ICE told to get the eff out

The car wasn't moving as he stepped in front of it, then reversed. He did, or at least he tried to, but the vehicle was moving too fast, for him to completely clear it.

Did this house fire REALLY start because of a turned off Air fryer OR faulty wiring?

That suggests there were two failures.... The switch at the socket, must have failed to switch off properly, and the switch/timer on the air fryer must have failed to switch off properly. The owner likely was aware of at least one of the failures, and chosen to ignore it, probably a fault on...

Correct! Instead of the tilde symbol, in your photo of the rectifier, they marked the ac input terminals with 'AC' instead.

Selmar Turbo 8 battery charger help

They don't have to be smart, just voltage controlled, to prevent damaging the battery. Connect, and not worry about.

    Downstairs heating constantly on

You only appear to have the two orange wires, plus a brown, with grey outer, feeding the boiler. Disconnect all three, and test which one is live, then follow that back, to the valve actuator.

loft light off last downlight control

Wire it to a L and N, so it is always available, but install the switch just below the ceiling, alongside the loft ladder. That way, you can check it is off, with the loft hatch closed, switch on as you go up the ladder, off on the way down - and don't have to have the landing light on.

What are you watching on TV right now?

No, never - it didn't match my sense of funny.

Selmar Turbo 8 battery charger help

To be honest, I really wouldn't bother with it - modern, smart chargers are so much better, and not expensive. Old chargers like that, are a great way to ruin batteries, they just keep on charging, whether the battery is fully charged or not. Modern ones, stop charging once charged. However -...

What are you watching on TV right now?

Yep, and it used to appear when there was a natural break in the program, and was there to warn the engineers, on the network, so they could sync the local ads. Now, the breaks can happen in the middle of a sentence, with no warning.

    Snow, what snow?

Still not a drop of snow here, no wind either, just cold. I spent most of my working life, working all over UK, and at times the EU. 50 miles one way, was a quite usual normal commute. One local, and quite specialised company I worked for, did lots of work for the NHS - strangely, most of the...

    Small Fence in Front Garden

Put a sign up, that you have CCTV, in a very visible location, as a deterrent. Those dumping, will not necessarily know where the cameras might be.

    Engine-oil analysis

Rather pointless, for a relatively a small/inexpensive engine/vehicle. On much bigger, more expensive engines, it is worthwhile.
