Painting interior of sash windows - keeping mould away

How can I paint the interior of my single glazed sash windows to prevent a mouldy strip eventually appearing where the glass meets the putty/wooden frame? Obviously there is going to be some condensation in the winter months and this can create small pools of water, but even exterior...

Roof tile vent - help me identify the type?

No, looks to be plastic, possibly 10 years old or so? Its a bit of a crawl into the roof space to possibly get a snap - will try!

Roof tile vent - help me identify the type?

Hi - I am wanting to attach an extractor to the underside of this tile vent, but am unsure how to. Is this a specific make that requires its own connector? Internally it has a 100mm round hole, but nothing protrudes downwards to allow a hose to be cable tied/taped onto it. Any ideas...

Grey polypipe - how to close-off?

I guess the question is how do I identify if it is polypipe or not? :? There will no doubt be an insert where the existing pipe connects to the electric shower, but I don't know if these are reusable so would like to buy the correct item prior to disconnecting anything.

Grey polypipe - how to close-off?

As part of a bathroom renovation, I am going to replace the electric shower with one straight off the combi. Right now the shower is fed by a t-piece that is on the cold supply. Both the pipe and the t-piece are grey plastic 15mm without any branding etc that I can see, and maybe about 10 years...

Reusing existing hardwood with some additional stuff

the T+G is a fairly essential component in terms of reducing noise in our property, so would rather keep it. perhaps the only option is to buy a batch for the whole floor unless I can get a match. i want to keep the price down though so trying to avoid that scenario

Reusing existing hardwood with some additional stuff

I am planning on moving some existing hardwood from one room to another, and I will need to supplement it with approx 10 more square metres (I am thinking trying to get reclaimed since it will be cheaper and probably more of an age to what I have). Eventually this room will get a light sand and...

Window architrave - help me reinstate to previous

I managed to see a neighbours and they have what seems to be the same part as in the earlier skirting picture, but reversed. So this bit with the blue line around in this orientation: This tops the wooden column - any idea what this part is called??? And where to get one?

Inline extractor but where to position, grille to use etc?

I am planning to install an extractor in our bathroom which will go through the ceiling and travel approx 3 or 4 metres to a tile vent. I am going to go for a loft mounted inline version for quietness and performance. Couple of questions though..... 1) Where should the fan itself be...

    Repair my coving...

Thanks guys - can a curved section like this be done offsite though? I suppose if you know the radius then yes, but getting both ends to meet seems tricky.

    Repair my coving...

The picture shows a wall (floral coving/cornice at top which is intact) where it meets the ceiling. The ceiling has a seperate moulding seen here as three items in a line - these are the edge of the broken cornice which needs repaired. Also ignore the crack - it just runs down the wall and...

    Repair my coving...

Not sure about the damage - from before we moved in, I guess some of the ceiling came down/was water damaged etc. I have attached this link which possibly allows it to open bigger. Its the broken piece in profile:

    Repair my coving...

Any idea on how much it would cost for the repair of a section of this coving (or is it cornice - it is the part that attached to the ceiling itself, rather than the more decorative bit below which is OK?): I imagine this needs to be done insitu by extending the existing? It is to go...

Window architrave - help me reinstate to previous

Our bay window has a set of hideous curtains which we want to remove and use blinds. Here is how it looks with the curtains removed.... At some point in time a 10" strip of board has been added to the top which the curtain rail is attached to, but judging by the old wallpaper...
