RF- I appreciate your help and advice, along everyone else's on here as I've already mentioned previously, however I cannot agree with your comment that the dimmers I am using ONLY work with incandescent bulb Yes there seems to be a compatibility issue with the bulbs I'm using, however...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Thanks for clarifying that John - I too was skeptical, only because in almost every other post I've seem about this issue, a capacitor was recommended & used - I am absolutely flummoxed as to what to do now - the electrician (or lack of!) in me tells me that It's something that I,myself, am...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Sorry for the late reply everyone - I've only just got home from work - I spoke to one of my colleagues OH who is an electrician, he feels that it may be due to the minimum load (which on these dimmers is variable due to the vast difference between LEDs) is not being met I don't have any...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

I too am surprised that this did not solve the problem, on every other post I've looked up I can see that the capacitor has solved everyone's problems - except mine - just my luck From the images I've posted can anyone confirm if I've wired it in correctly or not - for the light fitting, the...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Update: I've bought one of those capacitor things and have tried wiring them into the light fitting and the dimmer switch - both ways still cause it the lamps to be dimmed when switched off. This is really frustrating me, does anyone have any further suggestions or ideas? Pics posted...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Yes, I'm guessing it's the switch too! From what I've read it's probably in order to power 2 small indicators on the LightwaveRF dimmers. I just knew I wouldn't be able to get the thing fitted and finished today 😁😁 Right so I need one of those little black resistor things...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Lol no @ phatboy!! I killed the electric at the mains, what I meant was when I flipped the switch back on I started screwing the new bulbs in and that's when it illuminated! I didn't think to screw the new bulbs in before turning the RCD back on. Anyway, I've now wired the fixture...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Sparkwright- brilliant suggestion in it's simplicity - I thought of going into the loft before - I just didn't know why... Glad I hadn't finished boarding the loft otherwise I'd be buying a multimeter tomorrow! I have traced the switch wire now - am going to put a bit of red tape over it...

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Thanks for the replies. Yes I do seem to have wired them incorrectly. My only problem is all the wires are the same colour (brown, blue & yellow/green). How do I find out which is the switch wire to put into the loop? Is That correct?

New Ceiling Fixture fitted, lights stay on, switch is off!?!

Hi everyone I've replaced the bedroom light from a pendant which had a Phillips energy saver to a 3 candle LED bulb fixture which is connected to a LightwaveRF dimmer. Before the change everything worked fine, I wired the fixture as the previous pendant was but as soon as inserted the...
