    Central heating help

Thanks for this. I phoned my usual plumber but he’s on holiday. So...I’ve watched a lot of videos and gave the black circulating pump a good tap and I could hear water flowing again! I’m guessing it was jammed up because it’s not used everyday. My question now is should I replace the circulating...

    Central heating help

Thanks John yes all the pipes around it feel pretty cool to touch. The black circulating pump felt burning hot. I’ve switched it off now. On the bottom of the zone valve there seems to be a metal switch of some sort. Does that control the valve? Just wondering because my wife has been putting...

I will add that the switch always operated upside down in the house. If that makes any difference. Has someone incorrectly wired this originally?

    Outside light wiring

Hello, Just a quick query (I don’t want to get this wrong). I’ve just taken an old light off an outside wall and want to replace it with a pir light. The old light was controlled by a switch inside the house. Which had red, black and an earth wire to the outside. This fed into a lantern light...

External cowel rattles in the wind

Hello, I’ve got a plastic extractor fan cover that rattles in the wind. I’ve thought of putting or replacing it with an external cowel. It is about 100mm x 100mm. Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement that won’t rattle when it is windy? Thank you, Richard

    Electricity meter exposed cable

Very good service. They’ve been out already and fixed it. Put tape round it. They told me that it was a poor design - they don’t do them like these any more. He also used some kind of pen device that clicked away on the other wire but I didn’t hear a think on the wire he fixed. Said all the...
