Sparkwright are you a deccy or sparky? Agree with everything sparkwright says here and also get yourself a good quality brush, i.e. Hamilton synthetic for emulsion.

    Shall I sand this plaster?

First thing I would do is roller on some emulsion so it will highlight your problem better plus this would give the filler better adhesion than straight onto dry bare plaster.

    Caulk before or after papering

Caulk before papering and allow to dry or you'll have white marks all over your paper. Unless your hanging a blown vinyl that's going to be painted, then it doesn't matter.

    Painting over varnish

Strange one for you here but true. Went to a job once where the customer had sanded then glossed straight over half of the stained woodwork in her house. The other bits she had undercoated first then glossed. The bits that she had only put gloss on with no uc did not chip at all when knocked...

Garage, single brick, how to paint inside?

Is This Expensive Getting my Room Painted?

Myself, personally think that to do that in a day would not be the best finish or 'a top notch' job like the OP wanted, 2 days labour plus materials would be spot on. I don't see how it could be done in a day and look good (woodwork anyway) with dulux primer/undercoat on bare wood, however many...

    Tiffany heavyweight vinyl wallpaper

I have 6 rolls of this vinyl paper to hang (free match) for a customer and it says on the label to use Pride ready mixed adhesive. Am I being foolish if I just use the normal water soluble Solvite and mix it up thick? I really don't like using the ready mixed stuff.

    What do you think Robbie?

    Ready mixed wallpaper adhesive

Robbie, you say mix some ready mixed in, how much? Will it be ok for really heavy papers? Would I mix the Solvite up using the ratio for 'heavy papers'.

    Ready mixed wallpaper adhesive

Does anybody use this stuff? When hanging papers such as Arthouse it specifically tells you to use it as its heavyweight, I hate using it! Is there an alternative, like maybe mixing some normal paste up but thicker? Or a little PVA added?
