    Two aerials

Thanks for the replies. I can't see why there would any special circumstances dictating the need for my two aerials. I live in Yorkshire, and both aerials appear to be pointing at Emley Moor. Also, the only aerial socket we have is downstairs (the previous owners had Sky, in every room)...

    Two aerials

Simple question (I imagine!) but could anyone tell me why the house I've just moved into would have two aerials on the roof? Are they both needed?

    What's going on here?

I did wonder if BT might have been responsible. Each of the hard-wired extension boxes has the old BT "T" logo on them. Someone told me only BT fitted these. If it is them, they've done a pretty poor job! Nevertheless, I'd like them out anyway, as they're now unnecessary and they look a...

    What's going on here?

Hmm, perhaps the previous owners used to have this facility and have switched it off, or maybe they connected it to the phone line just in case the facility was added in future. I might leave that one in then (I'll have a word with the alarm fitter). Presumably, once I've got an up-to-date...

    What's going on here?

Many thanks for your helpful reply. I've done a bit of exploring, and discovered what is going where. There are two "hard-wired" extensions coming out of the Master socket - one of these goes to a room downstairs, the other goes to a room upstairs. The extension box on the right, which...

    What's going on here?

Sorry, I'm not really up on all this. Could you explain further? The master socket does have a BT logo on it, if that's any indication? Why would they have done this?

    What's going on here?

Could somebody help me work out what's going on with my phone line? I've recently moved into a new house. The previous owners were a little slapdash with, well, just about everything, including phone extensions. There are extensions throughout the house in walls, along skirting boards, under...

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

Further update: I took it to the garage but they couldn't find anything wrong it. I don't think they could reproduce the problem. Apparently everything is looking okay - nothing obviously out of order... So I don't know what to do now. I'll just have to keep an eye on it, I suppose.

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

Another update: The garage now thinks it might be their diagnostics software that is at fault. They said there's official Renault diagostics software for reading the ECU as well as a generic version. They've got the generic version and this is why they think it might not be picking up the ECT...

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

The cat? Or the car? The car is March 2006, so almost 6 years old. The catalytic converter? Not a clue. Could it be as old as the car?

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

I don't actually. He said he had some wiring diagrams up on the computer when I rang him, so maybe he was still investigating that. I get the impression he thinks it is ECT-related, but is puzzled about where the problem lies.

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

The engine definitely sounds rough, sometimes really chugging along. This is both when it starts and when it is warm. The garage reckons this could be due to over-fuelling from the ECT problem. It doesn't idle very well, particularly when I start it from cold. It fluctuates all over the...

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

An update: They've replaced the ECT sensor, and that hasn't fixed it, and they've checked the wiring and can't find a problem there. They are having it another night, so they can do some research to try and get to the bottom of it. The odd thing is, despite the ECT reading a constant...

Renault Clio III - Idling Issues

Renault Clio III - Dynamique 1.4 Petrol 2006 35,000 miles Got a bit of a puzzle about my Clio. It's been playing up when starting from cold: erratic idling and occasionally dropping to no revs and cutting out. Despite this, it still starts first time most of the time (although it took a...
