    Ocean Combi, DHW flow... not

It obviously IS the diaphragm as you are only getting hot water because you have turned the heating on :!: The fan resistor is hot as it is disapaiting heat from the reduction in voltage for the low fan rate which this boiler requires as it has a pilot light. Perfectly normal, but does...

    Response gas pressure problem (UPDATED)

I am pretty sure this it sounds like the gas valve not opening to me. Is this one the same as the Minimiser as I cant remember.Other than that just undo the inlet while isolated then open it up. You will soon know if there is a blockage. Stan

Ideal Response 120 - Hard to work on.

Check the spark gap as the probes have a nasty habit of warping. Far more improtant is make sure it has the flue saftey stat fiited :!: :!: If it hasnt then tell the customer to ring Ideal pronto. They should come and fit it free of charge as its a saftey issue. Stan

Question for the old timers or clever young 'uns

Question for the old timers or clever young 'uns

Got a customer who is using secondary coin meters in flats and they are struggling to work out where to set the mechanisum for the amount of gas provided per pound coin. The question is how can I get a calculation from the number of units used to cubic feet per hour. I have looked at the bill...

Vaillant ecoTEC plus 831 warmstart facility, economical?

I have found that the best way is to obtain the optional programmer that fits in the front of the boiler. If you get the right one you can then time the pre heat facility much like the Worcester DT20 system does. This way you can just preheat at times of demand. Stan

    CLASSIC COMBI

From my memory which aint good this boiler has got a wax stat but I never had one go!. It works using a 3 port valve(No Mid position of course) and thermostats on various pipes. Go loads of em on an estate round here. Pain in the ass to work on as the pressure guage is located through the top...

    myson midas combi

Its got two sensors I thought one on the inlet and one in the outlet to the calorifier. My stab is the pumps stuffed. If its a Myson unit 5 its been there as long as the boiler. Great boilers apart from the SFI which was a real bitch. Who the hell designed that airflow sensor  P.S...

Help Please C & M Britony safety valve

I was merely asking the question Chris. No need to jump on your oss about it. Obvously if they say its ok then who am I to argue. Just wondered why ever other blow off is usually copper.
