    Pressure Question

Quick question if i may, Background: To fit a shower in my bathroom i recently turned off my Boiler (Vokera 20-80RS) so i could cut into the existing pipes to add a new junction for hot and cold water. My question is: Why did the pressure on the boiler go to zero afterwards? (I thought...

Have you any idea what it might be if the pressure is still dropping after the PV has been filled to 10psi? Olly

Recon its that bad?! I have boiler cover from British Gas, hopefully it will be covered? If not DP - i am actually in Glasgow...

Ok PV pressurised to 10psi and the system pressurised to 1.5 Bar. Heating goes on, warm radiators etc. System pressure remains at 1.5 Bar. Heating goes off and over 3 hrs the system pressure drops to 0.9 Bar. What is going on?! (I may be, once again, in danger of becoming divorced!)

Ok i won't. However i have had a radiator tap open for a while (around 1 litre of water has come out) but the system pressure still says 0.5bar. Am i doing this wrong? (wish the system had a drain!)

Does that mean pumping with a radiator valve open? (mine doesn't have a drain valve). Olly

Pressure pumped in (10psi as suggested) ! It was going in fast than it could leak out of the bad connection with my pumps valve. The main boiler pressure gauge now shows .5 bar... is this correct or do i need to re bleed the system and then re-pump the PV?

Yes you rotate the lever 90 degrees to lock it on - its one of those electric ones. Think i might go and buy a normal foot pump! I think it is the valve though that is leaking when i pump - maybe a duff connection with my pump.

I think it might just be leaking at the inlet where i am pumping the air. If i remove the pump quickly i can then press the value and air comes out as normal. Perhaps a new foot pump is what i need. That all sound correct?!

Anyone know why this might be happening? Have i done something wrong? Thanks

sorry to drone on about this... I opened a radiator to let all the pressure out. I have hooked up a car pump to the PV valve to re-presureise it, initially air came out as opposed to water.(which is good i believe) The pump shows no pressure is currently in the thing. When i pump no...

The wife is kinda talking to me now... I have released the pressure and the indicator gauge says that it is at zero. In the FAQ it says "it is IMPERATIVE that water or air is allowed to escape from the heating system as it is pumped out of the PV" Does this mean i need to keep a radiator...

Thanks Guys, What should i do if it doesn't have a drain cock? (which i don't think it does). Olly

Thanks for that I will have a go. Just a few quick questions before i attempt this... Where is the drainage tap located to allow me to release the pressure from the system? Is it here where i am required to drain 10 litres of water from too? (as per the FAQ) Thanks again, Olly...

Hello everyone and seasons greetings, Background: I have recently fitted a new bath in my flat and whilst doing this i was required to turn off my boiler to isolate the hot water. Now that all is back on i appear to have a problem with the central heating side of the system. Boiler: I...

    Bolection!? Joiner Help please!

Hi there, i have a set of old panel storm doors which have bolection moulds (thats the stuff that is fitted onto the sides of the panels, a bit like architrave). I need to find a supplier of bolection moulds to replace some damaged bits. They are different from standard moulds as they have a...
