About a month ago, I was in one of the office wings of the building that I work at.
Went out the fire exit to enter the internal fire-escape stairwell of the wing that I was in to grab some network cables that were in a box that I needed (box of cables was in stairwell).
On coming back into...
You have not had a power outage since the early 70's!,:ROFLMAO: I find that very surprising unless UPS/Generators are involved for your power.
I tend to get 2 per year, normally lasting around 5-30 minutes each.

Does anyone know of a lock like the one linked below, except that has both sides of the lock connected together for use in a office with a glass to glass sliding door?
One side being a key and the other side being a thumb turn...

I was just showing that one can get individually switched Schuko trailing sockets, not that I was suggesting the switches were single pole. (Although I am sure if you buy from less than reputable online sources you could end up with...
But what when one encounters a single pole switch/isolator in an extension lead or an appliance, and one has isolated the neutral conductor instead of the line conductor?
Feels somewhat inherently risky to have a non polarised plug and socket system.
Table 54.7 in BS7671 says that when the protective conductor is the same material as the line conductor (S), it must at least be the same size as the line conductor.
Why does 1.5mm² T&E not comply with this reg when you have 1.5mm² line conductors and 1mm² protective/CPC conductor!?
Can some...
Long story short, the other day I unwired the controller from a small mains hoist as it was being temperamental. I had already ruled out the the limit switches on the hoist it's self.
Today I went to look at the controller and thus ran some basic continuity tests on the controller and the short...
