Radiator - Pipework to short - Please Help!!!

Ok, I messed up.... I did the pipe work for a 1000mm x 600mm radiator a few months ago, but when I measured it up by putting on the valves etc I neglected to put the extended bit on the TRV which comes out of the side, this has made me around 60mm short on the pipe work which is now fixed in...

Towel Radiator - Regulations is a Thermo Required?

It really isn't necessary to fit one with a higher output, the higher the output the larger they seem to be and more expensive. As is an extension, they are so well insulated that in my opinion it wasn't necessary. Thanks for the advice!

Towel Radiator - Regulations is a Thermo Required?

only reason is they look unsightly on the design I have, and as the room is small and this is a 1.5 Metre by 1 Metre I am sure it will be enough to heat room, but if not i would leave it on all the time so wouldn't want a TRV. So would I have to by Building regs?

Towel Radiator - Regulations is a Thermo Required?

HI, Just built an extension and have an en-suite, in it I am putting a fairly large towel chrome towel rail which will be more than enough to heat the room, anyhow the question is will building control expect a thermostat on it or not? There is no other radiator in the en-suite and this...

they were happy with me doing first fix, as they sent out a guy from local council to check it and that was fine, it was just with signing off they said I would need to get signature of guy who did it. I didn't know this until they told me this bit. Worst case I guess is pay for an...

Electrics - Done own in Extension - Council testing

Thanks Artic, you can see where I am at. basically the guy who did second fix doesn't want his name against work as he is bankrupt etc, anyhow if I put my name as the person who did it, will they buy that? or if I said me and a mate did it? I still don't see why they need names etc when...

Hi Ban-all-sheds I have used your excellent info to get my BC to agree to allow myself and friend (ex-electrician) to do the work on extension. Anyhow we have done all the first fix now, when I phoned them and they have said they want to send out a contractor to check our work (cabling...

Soil Pipe System - Push fit or Weld? PHOTOS

there is another branch below yes that is about 2 inches below the system, it is the bath soil pipe and this is solvent, but cannot see further down but guess this is solvent too. If I cut the bottom of the system off it seems to measure 14" whereas a 110mm pipe is less, I was thinking...

Soil Pipe System - Push fit or Weld? PHOTOS

Hi Chris thanks for quick reply, I agree think it maybe solvent as totally different than other push fit bits. Trouble is my bath is in there all tiled in the lot, hence why we broke through wall from extension, and floor boards will prevent enough access for hand saw. Will solvent not...

Soil Pipe System - Push fit or Weld? PHOTOS

Thats great thanks, I thought top and soil were push fit, but still unsure of the bottom pipe, I enclose another pic. If bottom isn't push and is solvent is this a normal thing? If it is solvent how will I ever get it off?, I have very limited space and cannot dig deep into the floor from...

I enclose a photo of our current waste system which has 110mm Grey Marley Soil Waste and simply runs one toilet into it, what I intend to do is to get this out and put a T-branch of the same dimensions so I can run another soil pipe from next door into the extension I have just had built, this...
