    Does PAT testing apply to.....?

How entertaining! You've worked yourself up into such a state that you've forgotten who posed the original question. Magnificent.

Bad to wire a plug like this?

Yup, that's impression I got too. The OP doesn't make sense otherwise.

    How to extend microwave cable

Fair enough. As the OP's microwave specifies that it could draw upto ~ 10A, then the 'kettle lead' would need to be 1mm ². Pretty much all the ones I come across these days are at least 1mm ² .

    How to extend microwave cable

Only 'figure-of-8' (IEC C7) leads that may come with a laptop PSU would be too small and be missing the earth wire. "Any kettle lead supplied with computers", as the OP says, should be OK, as I would take this to mean a BS 1363 to IEC C13 lead. If you look at the link properly, you'll see...

    F.cking Xmas Tree Lights!!!

So new lights are as expensive as a divorce in Scotland? Or a divorce in Scotland is as cheap as a new set of lights? Or did you not think through your reply to BAS before posting it?

    F.cking Xmas Tree Lights!!!

It's perfectly acceptable to throw away manky old tat that doesn't work properly. Get down the shops, and buy some decent LED twinkly lights.

    PAT testing 3 phase

Wrong end of the stick there, mate. I believe Risteard's comments (and therefore mine) were directed at ALoveCollege, not you. There's no such thing as PAT anymore, really. The term persists, though. 'In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment' covers all that 'PAT' did, and...

+1 for talking rubbish, as Risteard says. If you don't know what you're talking about, why do you feel the need to post rubbish in the thread?

Martindale Easy PAT 2100 Portable Appliance Tester

Erm, try clicking the link I included in my post, maybe? Found by Googling "Martindale EasyPAT 2100 manual", no less... And has it been calibrated? Do you have a certificate of calibration that is dated within the last 12 months? If not, I'd suggest getting the unit calibrated if you're...

Washing Machines Failing PAT tests on High leakage

Time to try and be helpful now  Are you using a PAT tester that performs a proper leakage test / protective conductor current test, with the appliance powered up to mains voltage, or is it a battery power only tester (for example the Seaward Prime Test 100), that performs a simulated...
