when you take the lid off the internal sounder will go, pump in your code to silence the system. date & swop the battery. replace lid & press reset. now that il be £47.00+vat please :lol:

temporary fix, remove the door card on the drivers door and unplug the the central locking plug from the mechanism. then just lock all doors manually. worked on my bros ford mondeo untill the parts were ordered.

i had the same problem with a stud wall :oops: ended up measureing the distance cutting a hole, fitting a double plank plate... all worked out well :D

if the back up battery has not been changed in the past 4-5 years then replace it, if the problem still persists then link out the bell tamper in side the main control panel... and try that for a few days BUT DONT forget about it, if the problem goes away with a link in then a new bell box is...

sorry johnboy didnt mean it the way it sounded. lazy wasnt the word to describe the feelin, but it is hard to get started into the home maintenance jobs at this time of year.

i know just how you feel ! i was a lazy bugger until i went self-employed, now i do any thing to save a few pounds around the house now that money is tight, new skills include joinery, building, decorating, electrical, plumbing, mechanical... and the list goes on, if you don't have the money...
