Vaillant ecoTEC not reaching desired flow temperature

The target temperature is shown in the graph above as Flow Temp Desired, which I presume is derived from the heat curve according to the OT. Here are the Outside and Room temperatures for the same period. The target Room temperature is 18C: The heat curve is currently 2.5: Mike

Vaillant ecoTEC not reaching desired flow temperature

I have an 18kW boiler for the same reason as everyone else - the installers don't know any different. My heat load rarely exceeds 8kW, in the current weather it's a lot lower. If I've set it too low I would expect it to take longer to heat up, not cut off at 50C. The HW part load is left at 18kW...

Vaillant ecoTEC not reaching desired flow temperature

I have a Vaillant ecoTEC plus 418 on a vented system with twin 2-port valves, ABV, VRC 470f, VR65 and outdoor temperature sensor. The CH Part Load is set to 5kW. HW is timed to come on at 5am and CH at 6am. HW is working as I expected but CH cuts off when the flow temp reaches 50C, well below...

Is the Vaillant wireless VRT360F thermostat display unit unique for each receiver?

If your Installation display has a Teach-In mode then you can use that to pair a new controller to your existing receiver. Mike

Advice on Vaillant VRC 470f settings please

My Vaillant ecoTEC plus 418 was installed in 2009 on a vented system with twin 2-port valves and conventional Danfoss controls. It has been very reliable but in an effort to reduce the running costs I have replaced the Danfoss controls with a VRC 470f, VR65 and outdoor temperature sensor. It's...

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

I have a comparison between the two modes for the period midnight to 10am. The HW is timed to come on from 5am to 6am and the CH from 6am to 9am. Here is the plot for 2-point control. The heating comes on briefly before 5am when the temperature drops to the set-back of 15C: Here is the plot...

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

Well I'm glad you've got your system working how you want it. I've only just started with mine so it will take a while. Mike

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

Thanks for that. You're right it was set to two point (default). I have changed it to analogue and will be interested to see what difference it makes. Mike

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

I'm a retired electronics engineer. I like data ... The room temperature is collected from the VRT392f every 10 seconds. Here is an expanded graph of the central heating operation: The room thermostat is set for 18degC so it seems obvious to me that the boiler will keep supplying heat until...

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

Yes I started out the same way but wanted more information. I understand electronics and software far more than I do boilers! Mike

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

Thank you for explaining that, I shall leave it as it is then. I built the adapter described here ... https://fromeijn.nl/ ... installed ebusd on a Raspberry Pi ... https://github.com/john30/ebusd ... and wrote a python script to capture the data. Mike

    ebus status messages

Can anyone tell me what each of the values in these ebus status messages from my ecoTec 418 boiler mean please? I can guess some of them but I'd like to hear from someone who actually knows! pi@vaillant:~ $ ebusctl read -f -c bai Status01 38.0;39.0;-;-;-;off pi@vaillant:~ $ ebusctl read -f -c...

What setting for DHW part load on Vaillant boiler?

I have an ecoTec 418 boiler with VR65 controller, VRT392f thermostat and a conventional 42x18 HW cylinder. I have set the CH part load to 12kW and it keeps the house nice and warm. The HW part load is at the default value of 18kW. Is there any advantage to reducing this, i.e will it save money...
