    combi is it possible to fit an external programmeable stat to this boiler, i rang broag and they talked me through wiring external controls and all seemed ok at 1st. NOW :cry: customer says NO :cry: external programmer is coming up ERR.

    checked continuity and i think its the aps, still thought boiler might fire sucking or blowing into tubes but didnt but like you say if the microswitches are goosed it wont fire :twisted:

    system boiler, gravity system and pumped heating (primatic cylinder). complaints of noise when boiler goes off, tested a few times nothing happened, there should be a pump overrun on there (or only for fully pumped systems). i could not find a fault put it down to sludge in the system and...

    flue/fan fault, phone baxi ran tests i was told its the pcb, changed that still the same. pump and fan runs but no ignition then fan/flue light comes on, baxi "test aps" mm thats hard to test where it is.. . tested voltage at pcb of aps 240 going out but only 80-85 volts coming back, what...

    is there any reason why a combi boiler should not be situated near a lead pipe, a potential customer has said theyve been told they cant have a combi nr a lead pipe. ive never heard anything like this before have you?

    anyone know what length will be suitable for most roofs, ive noticed they all different lengths will 5mtrs be sufficient? wheres the best place to buy em. also can anyone recommend any safety harnesses etc and where to buy em.

    anyone do any work for the big insurance firms ie call outs for bursts, leaks, breakdowns etc? how did you go about getting on there list of tradesmen :wink:

    can anyone recommend what length of cat/roof ladder will do most jobs. will a 5 meter roof ladder be sufficient?

    the thing is now more and more people want combi's etc in the loft with vertical flues and we gotta obey our payers. personally i prefer to work on boilers downstairs on a solid floor so to speak where you can see em and check em.

    ive just set up too as a gas engineer/plumber and have been going for about 7-8 weeks the same here. once you established you'll be ok :wink:

    Cutting hole in stainless steel sink

    been there took me nearly an hour :twisted: :twisted: customer said he'd cut the utility one out said it took him 30 mins with a ratchet.. i thought get on with it :D
