2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Ok so if that's the case and the dimmer definitely still works fine and the retractive switch still works fine and I've now wired it up exactly as York suggested.... but yet it still doesn't work?

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

The dimmer is fine. It's a 2-gang dimmer and the first gang goes to the front room light. I swapped them over to make sure the dimmer was ok and did I make sure the retractive switch was ok. It's most likely what I thought.... wrong type of retractive switch. When I first bought the dimmer...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Fair comment, but I was getting massively frustrated that it wasn't working in the way that I'd followed the instructions.......Anyways I'll see what happens with the other retractive switch I've just ordered. If that doesn't work then I'll have to call in a spark.

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Yes that's exactly what I did right at the very beginning. I only started trying to use L2 when i couldn't get it to work. The only difference I can really see from York's suggestion and my very first attempt was that I had the grey and black cables the other way round on both ends. Anyhow I...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

I did wire it up according to the instructions right at the beginning and it didn't work, hence the reason I've been trying different configurations. I've even tried swapping the switches round so that the retractive switch is by the door entrance and the dimmer is by the patio door (so that...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

It wasn't a 2-way before. We are completely redecorating the downstairs so I thought now would be a good opportunity to run a 3-core and earth between the two switches as if always wanted to be able to control both lights from the door entrance. Is there anyway the wiring could be wrong at the...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Thanks... just tried that but the retractive switch doesn't do anything. The dimmer is working fine but nothing from the RS end. This is how i wired it...

2-way dimmer with retractive switch problem

Having a mare trying to fit a 2-gang, 2-way Schneider dimmer switch! It doesn't seem to make any difference which way I wire it up, it still doesn't work right! I've got it by the entrance to the living room. It's 2-gang so one of the gangs is just brown (live) and blue (neutral) which goes to...

5/8 male thread on expansion vessel?

Was just about to fit an external expansion vessel yesterday. https://www.plumbnation.co.uk/boiler-spares/product/worcester-87161425040-expansion-vessel-10l/ I just assumed (without actually looking!) that the thread on the E.V. would be 3/4" so I purchased a 3/4" female to 15mm compression...

    Fitting Worcester 10l expansion vessel

I bought it from eBay (brand new in box, including a wall mount bracket!) for £20 - that's cheaper than any 10ltr expansion vessel I could find. The bloke selling it told me he'd asked his wife to stick some bits on eBay for him and she'd listed the expansion vessel at the wrong price (he...

    Fitting Worcester 10l expansion vessel

Because the old one is internal, costs more and is difficult to get to.

    Fitting Worcester 10l expansion vessel

I've just purchased a Worcester Bosch 10l expansion vessel for my WB greenstar boiler as the internal vessel membrane has gone (pressure dropping on boiler and water coming out the schrader valve on the expansion vessel)...

Replacing flow manifold - Worcester Greenstar Junior 28i

You two are really not doing your fellow tradespeople any favours are you! First tweedle-dum AGAS accuses me of making assumptions about him, and then in the very same sentence suggests that I should tar people with my own idiotic lifestyle, experiences and choices, yet knows nothing...

Haha I appear to have left you somewhat discombobulated AGAS.... presumably the old age taking its toll... certainly couldn't be due to the lack of intellect.... you are a plumber after all

Replacing flow manifold - Worcester Greenstar Junior 28i

Are you suggesting that because your mate started a thread with these "tips", that these are now official rules and guidelines that new members have to abide by?:LOL: You are not a forum mod and neither is your wally mate who you seem to arse kiss!
