Replacing flow manifold - Worcester Greenstar Junior 28i

I've no doubt you do, especially with the scare tactics you lot employ to ensure people don't do simple jobs themselves. It must feel great charging little old ladies £200 out of their pension for 90 minutes work to swap out a manifold that cost you £18 ;) Well done mate.

I guess with you referring to me as a boy must mean you are an old man.... a grumpy old sod who appears to be losing his marbles! Stick to your copper pipes mate, the internet is for us youngsters! :D

Look I understand what you are saying, but my point is that the "condition" of the boiler is no different now to what it would have been before I took off the casing. You surely are not telling me that removing 4 screws has somehow altered the state of the boiler? If there is a problem with my...

Ok I'm bored of this now, so you can post what you want. Very easy job done, and saved myself a lot of money. We both know there's no danger with the particular job I did. No disruption to the gas feed, the burner, the flue, the combustion chamber or anything else that could pose a danger... 4...

I wouldn't know mate.....my Nest Protect and backup British gas carbon monoxide alarm haven't detected any! If it makes you feel better, my hobs are burning a nice crisp blue flame, there is no "dark staining" around my appliances, and there's no increased condensation on the inside...

By "sealed" you mean 4 screws that protect a combustion chamber that was completely undisturbed throughout the entire process and were screwed back in, with no sign of carbon monoxide leak. I suppose you thought I'd take the front cover off and think to myself "what's all this stuff up the top...

No it's not unreasonable at all. People have to earn a living just like I do and I don't begrudge anyone doing that. My point is that some jobs can be done easily (and safely) by competent people, and some jobs are best left to an expert. In my opionion, this job falls into the former category...

Maybe you could think further than your own pocket AGAS? You're clearly very concerned about the safety aspect of my boiler above and beyond any associated costs. Maybe you could come round and check it for me free of charge? I'm guessing not, as you are clearly thinking about your own pocket!

Thanks Tony... not 100% convinced it's for the block screw, as I used the rubber grommet thing (directly below the thing I'd arrowed in red in the pic) on that screw. AGAS, I'm guessing by your comment that you already know I've not carried out any "gas safe" checks that a certified engineer...
