    Shared water supply

Cheers guys, interesting how did they do that! It is on an old 1/2 inch which then goes to a 15mm modern pipe cofig. Well actually it doesn't! I think the original (lead?) pipe is 22m or 1/2 inch there is then a reducer then this ball o fix thing. What is the point of the ball bearing...

    Shared water supply

Thats it! A row of houses and no stopcock, just this dodgy isolator valve. I have been unable to locate an isolation point for the mains at thefront or the back. I sent an email to Thames water, but never had a reply. I'm pretty sure its lead pipe as well!

    Shared water supply

I cannot locate a stopcock to isolate the mains into my house. The pipe dissappears into the concrete floor. I need to isolate to remove a broken ball o fix. Can the pipe be frozen?

    VRT 360 roomstat

Anyone had any problems installing this device? I've had a look at tech sheets and the wiring diagram conflicts with a caution written for my eco-tec pro28. It basically says connect to pins 3&4, but then later it sayas don't use 3&4 in UK! I'm confused. I currently have a thermostat from...

Noisy water system using ceramic mixers

Its quite old and looks like a compression tube fitting with a screw in the middle. It has a ball bearing or similar inside as something is also rattling in there. Your the second person who's said not sure what a restrictor vlave is. Its a shared water supply with possible lead pipe...

Noisy water system using ceramic mixers

Hi, If the mixer taps are on anything less than full flow, then there is a horrendous noise of the water rushing through the pipes. We have a vaillant ecotec combi and this also affects the rattling of the aqua sensor. There is a restrictor valve entering the house which is a bit old, and...

    Extractor Fan Noise - Vibration

You need to get it out of the joists. It is the vibration rattling the joist which you can hear else where in the house. It does my head in. My fan has to be fixed at an angle, so the two sides that fit into the joist are not screwed up to butt up to the ceiling. This has been the only way I...
