Check for cracked electrodes also, and drill a small hole in face of blast tube in front of PEC. Bentone told me to try this on one burner i was having trouble with and it worked. Did it work ok before the service ? Stix.

Servicing a Monoflame burner in a Rayburn

Plenty of folk on here will give you the info you require but you must first tell them which model Rayburn and which type of burners are fitted.

oil burner lockout after 7 seconds

Sorry if i had the wrong end of the stick. It's when you stated the burner fires almost immediately that threw me. The burner pre purges with just the fan at first before it fires so i took it that you meant the motor and fan had started but after the pre purge period it locked out without...

oil burner lockout after 7 seconds

The cell see's the flame and allows the burner to continue by telling the c. box all is well. If no flame occurs the cell will tell the box to lockout. Sounds like you need more investigation as to why the burner is not lighting. First thing to check is have you got fuel in the tank ? Next ,is...

    Genny for house

Hi all, i am thinking of purchasing one of the portable generators which can also be run as a 200 amp welder. The models i have seen develop from 5 up to 7.5 kva. Would one of these be suitable for powering our house during occaisional power cuts ? The last one we had last winter went on for 4...

    Overheating Rayburn

It may need the combustion chamber and heat exchanger and flue ways cleaning. Also if the insulation in the cooker side comb. chamber is holed/collapsed it will cause it to overheat when both burners are on. If you get them cleaned be careful not to put a hole in the insulation.

    supply for welder

Hi folks, i currently have a 180 amp arc welder which just about runs on a 13 amp socket outlet. Suspect it needs a bigger supply as it blows a fuse now and then. However i could do with a bigger welder for occaisional heavy jobs such as a 250 amp and wondered what size supply cable and fuse...

    OUR OLD RAYBURN

Sounds to me to be more of an air flow problem. Either not enough fresh air entering the room or a fault or blockage in the flue ways. Has the rayburn always sooted up to this extent or is it a new problem ? Could also be the type of fuel burn't as some fuels are far more clean burning than...

    semi or fully synthetic oil

Hi folks, just dropped the oil out of my toyota aygo and spun off the old filter as it's time for a service. Then got the bag of stuff the local motor factor man put together for me and noticed the oil he sold me is semi synthetic. Had a quick look in the hand book only to find it recommends...

    kitchen wiring

Thanks fellas, have found that the mcb is 32 amp and there are 2 cables coming into the outlet both of 4mm square size so is probably a ring main (i know the chap who installed the wiring used to oversize cables in case extra capacity was needed in the future). It wouldn't be a heavy duty radial...

    kitchen wiring

Hi folks, i'm in need of advise please. I am hanging a few wall cupboards in my kitchen and need to extend the socket outlet down the wall to just above the worktop as the socket is currently quite high up and fed a tall fridge/freezer. Also going to put a small strip light under the cabinets...

    Oil Heatslave 18/25

Not sure what you mean by reset button B, but if the burner is not locking out i presume you mean the overheat stat is tripping. Usually caused by the water pump failing but may be a blockage in the pipework of some kind. Might help if you posted what boiler it is and what system it's working on.
