1000ltrs of oil in 2 months???????????

Oilman is giving you good advice. Why don't you take it ? For starters you will need to purchase several hundred pounds worth of test equipment and then use it for several months at least with guidance from a professional to be able to sort your boiler out. If there is just a thin layer of soot...

    Oil boiler flame intermittent

The air intake could be sucking in fumes from the exhaust. When you take the cover of it can breath from the room, hence it runs trouble free. Trace the leak of fumes and seal it up. If its in the flue and new seals can't be obtained seal it up with high temperature silicone.

    Frost stat problems?

The frost stat has its own supply of electric i.e. not through the programmer. This, as you say, fires the boiler to prevent boiler and pipes from freezing (which obviously means in other words the heating comes on). You are also correct that there should be a pipe stat on the return to the...

    Trianco Eurostar 65 not flaming

The clue is you can smell oil. If solenoid was duff it would not let any oil through. Check ignition first, then pump pressure. If you've no idea how or lack the tools it best to get some one in.

New Grant Boiler - cant be fitted in utility room????

It may be costly for a tall vertical balanced flue but they work very well and all the flue products are dispersed at roof level instead of in your garden/alley/patio or wherever at low level. Having said that a boiler in your garage has advantages in that there is no oil in the house and the...

Hi all, i have been asked to change an old immersion thermostat for a new re-settable one. The current one is in an immersion on the top of a cylinder. The problem is the top of the cylinder is only about 12" below the roof and when i withdraw the old stat there isn't enough clearance for it to...

    Atkinson Tankmaster Valve servicing

Spin the valve wheel till it goes slack/loose. In this position the oil is off.Tighten up but not too much (just get some tension on the valve) to open the valve up and allow oil through again. Try it with the filter off and a container to catch the oil so you can see how much to open the valve...
