How are you checking the capacitor value oilman ? Do you mean the uf value or something else, and what instrument are you using ?

Don't dismantle the pump. It won't go back together properly.You can check if the pump coupling is ok . When did you last get a full service on the boiler by an experienced oil technician ? He/she will have the specialised equipment and knowledge to set the burner up and to identify problem...

Well if you look on WB's web site the instructions show a bypass.

Is that no bypass on any new worcester ?

What if someone closes the rad valve manually ? Isn't it safer to fit a bypass regardless ?

Make sure the new vessel is OK. Could be a problem with the heat exchanger passing mains water through to the heating water.

You are right it is steel jacket. It was in need of a clean internally and the crud was somewhat sticky instead of the usual dry dusty dirt. However it was not terribly dirty. I wouldn't say it was undersized.Why go for non condensing ? Can't these only be fitted under certain conditions ?

Hi again ,hope you can help on this one. Trianco eurostar oil fired 10 years old. There is an inch of water in the base. I'm not sure how long this takes to accumulate but does not run over so presume the heat from the boiler causes it to evaporate at least as fast as it appears. Can't see...

Hi guys, what ia the best method for replacing a complete 3 port valve (honeywell) ? Should i drain down the system, use arctic spray freezer kit, or some other method like bunging the tank ? As always your help is much needed and appreciated, Stix.

And make sure that the sections of the new valve are screwed tightly together before fitting in the tank.

Maybe i am speaking out of turn but if the tank is leaking and the boiler although old is OK, why not just replace the tank ? You can still replace the boiler when it finally bites the dust , but without the need for a combi.

I can find out the number of rads tomorrow but for tonight i would guess about 7. The MI says additional vessels may be fitted. I will check the vessel for blockages, thanks.
