Hi there, a rad on an open vented circuit has started to make a quite loud humming noise when the boiler( worcester heatslave) is powering the c/h. The system works ok with rads getting plenty hot and no air in them.Is it likely to be sludge, faulty rad valves (no trv's) , or something else you can think of ? Cheers in advance, STIX. Forgot to mention the valve incorporates both flow and return and says Yorkshire something or other on it.Hope that helps.

clever.. trevor..
stix.. u got a double entry rad valve,, u must have microbore,,
microbore is not friends with sludge as sludge beat up microbores mate at the foriegn heat exchange(r)
open up valve ( and lockshield screw) a couple o time to free any muck, but dont think sludge is gonna like it though!!
