Cheapest place to order bathroom suite online, UK

3 of the ones I fitted were still 100% working after 3, 4 and 5 years respectively (4th was a temporary solution which was removed after a few months). I wont be fitting one in the new house as we want a really nice suite and the existing one is good enough (after being resealed) for now...

Cheapest place to order bathroom suite online, UK

I've fitted 4 of B&Qs Madrid suite and to be honest I've not had any real problems although they are not the best looking but for £300 you cant expect too much. The plug operating mechanism on the sink is badly designed but apart from that its pretty good.

draining down a system - use flushing additive? yes/no

thanks for the reply. I've already added inhibitor to my shopping list and thats what started me thinking about flushing additive. From reading other posts it seems that the Sentinel x100 and x400 are as good as any and thats what I was going to buy. Is it really a case of personal choice...

draining down a system - use flushing additive? yes/no

I'm going to be draining down the heating system soon and wondered whether its worth adding a flushing agent beforehand? I've read some posts that say yes but most dont seem to mention it. The system works very well at the moment but we are replacing and relocating a radiator. The radiator...

TRV for microbore system - 8mm or 15mm with 8mm reducer?

Thanks for the replies. I've been having a good look online and most manfucaturers dont state whether their 8mm TRVs are natively 8mm or 15mm with convertors. I've sent a few emails and had a reply from one place saying I'll need to buy the reducers. This is the model I'm considering...

TRV for microbore system - 8mm or 15mm with 8mm reducer?

After some more help/opinions please I'm planning on installing TRVs on all radiators (except bathroom) on a 8mm microbore system. I've been told that a lot of 8mm TRVs are standard 15mm TRVs with a 8mm reducer in the box. anyone know whether that is the case? The reason for asking...

    Repairing cracks in render

(I've read the rending page in Outdoor projects but wanted some additional advice) We've recently moved into an old bungalow and there is damp in one wall of the house. Originally we were told that the rendering needed replacing but we've since had a couple of other people to look at it and...

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

I presumed that ones from a certain era might be more/less likely to have fins hence the link to something similar. Anyway now that I'm home, I can confirm that the existing one does not have any fins and is 1400mm long. Any idea what rough output it would have?

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

I was trying to find a picture of something similar. This is the best I could find. Its a double version of the one pictured in the first post here: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=675505 (I suspects its pretty old)

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

Due to the relocation I've got to use a smaller radiator. I was expecting the modern double radiator to give out more heat than a older one. I'll need to check the size of the existing one when I get home but I susect its about 1200 x 600mm (double). The new one is going to be a double 1000 x...

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

Well if nothing else it would help keep it tidy! I'm going to look into draining the system at the weekend along with extending the existing pipes for the new radiator. It the new radiator isn't enough to heat the room then I'll need to rethink the plumbing. Edit - didn't see the...

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

thanks for the reply Keith. Any suggestions for a supplier for manifolds with compression fittings? Majority of the manifolds I can find online appear to be pushfit which isn't something I've used before. I guess I could always give them a try though...

micro bore CH question - manifolds and adding a radiator

hi folks I'm looking for a little advice on a micro bore CH system. We've recently moved into a old (1930's) bungalow, the heating system is reasonably old but still functioning well. Boiler will be replaced at some point in the near future but for now the plan is to move and replace an...
