    Touching tiles

Many thanks for all your comments. It feels good to have a few people chipping in to this issue - one of many in a whole house renovation which has so far taken two years! So - on we go. I have already 'managed' the situation by 'commenting' that we will need to take extra care squeezing in...

    Touching tiles

Hi Thanks for all your comments. I looked more closely and I see that in fact the tiles are all very irregular, so it is difficult to get them to fit well. He didn't do too badly, considering. But this issue with the tiles touching and the grout does concern me. I have spoken to him about it...

    Touching tiles

That's what I thought The tiler is just saying (he's not here today) that he had to keep the lines good across the wall, but it seems to me he could have still put spacers to stop things going wonky My main concern is the way the grout will stop and start where the tiles touch and that...

Mould and Wet Ply - Keep or Discard?

I have searched, found a few bits of info, but could do with some quick help: I have done a loft conversion, with a plywood flat roof. I'll cut to the chase - some of the ply has got wet. I am now drying it, but there is some mould - green bits, grey fluff and some white slimy stuff, here and...

Warm roof construction with insulation between joists?

Hi everybody! This is my first ever DIYnot post after many many months of very useful sifting - thanks everybody! I am doing a dormer conversion. We are really pushing to get maximum head height. For this reason i would prefer to have insulation between the joists as with a cold flat roof...
