So, bleeding each rad downstairs the trv pipe instantly gets hot and warms up the rad. I don't understand why this is working?

    No hot water or heating

Thanks, Lightning - I'll try that. Terry, yes, the hot water cylinder is hot and there is hot water coming out from top pipe and the two side pipes. This 15mm pipe (blue line in pic) is cold so I'm guessing this is the rads pipe? all other pipes from boiler to cylinder are hot.

Ok, update. 1. Bleed pump - done, water no air 2. Clean f&e tank - used sentinal cleaner 3. Sort out wiring on cylinder - rewired, after creating a short. So I have hot water, yay! However still no radiator. If I turn everything off and on again, boiler fires up, makes a rumble noise and...

uPVC window with Broken hinge and removing insert screw

Hi The hinge on this window is broken. Does anyone know how to remove this hinge? It has these insert screws with just a hole. I've tried hex, flat, Phillips but nothing catches onto these.

    No hot water or heating

That's, right the boiler lights up and then turns off. Why would it turn off unless it senses that the water is hot? The rads were getting warm at the top, bottom cold. So thought I'd flush out the crud - they are over 20years old. What part does the f&e tank play? If it is circulation, any...

    Letterbox Cutout

Just for anyone's reference - this is not doable as the arch transfers its weight onto the section therefore the recommendation is not to cut it.

    Letterbox Cutout

Anyone have any idea on whether it would be safe to cut out a section of the front wall in an archway to insert one of these letterbox options? Veritcal: http://www.lettasafe.co.uk/16/LS17/highway-through-wall-letter-chute/product.php Horizontal...

Pressure Sensor Vaillant ecotec plus 824

All done - I thought the same as well - the thicker pin is for another type of fitting Although it seems lose, it is sealed and running fine. Had a f.75 error, changed the pump and was resolved - however noticed that the Pressure was building consistently to more than 3 bar and staying in...

Pressure Sensor Vaillant ecotec plus 824

I am replacing the orange pressure sensor on the Vaillant Ecotec Plus 824 with the new black pressure sensor, however the fitment seems much too loose on the black pressure sensor. The black pressure sensor has come with a thin locking pin, the washer, the sensor and another thicker locking...
