recently had a Vaillant ecoFIT pure 825 installed, noticed this 'clicking' or 'popping' or 'snapping' sound and came across this thread i've uploaded a video of it: is this the same sound as what others have experienced? i've noticed it only happens as the boiler is heating up/cooling down...

so i cut out all the failed mastic, cleaned it all up and applied lead sealant i then coated the lead in Acrypol+ it looks a lot better but the Acrypol is a bit shiny... will it dull down over time?

thanks all for the help! they located it on the top left of the house (by the hopper) and brought it down behind the downpipe, so i've a nice clean cable-free house now!

thanks everyone for the replies does anyone know how Openreach fix cables to walls/render? my existing cables were all fixed with these, leading to cracks in the render/paint so i'd like to avoid that this time...

the paint on my bow window canopy (which i think is lead flashing?) is flaking/aesthetically displeasing... (see pics) how would you go about repairing this? my plan was to remove all the flaking paint, and repaint it with something more suitable. but i'm not sure how easy it will be to remove...

thanks. Where would I test them--would the backplate itself have voltage if it was live? I'll have a look inside one of the sockets. So there are no sockets on the other side of the skirting. Assume they're blanking plates that have been filled over/painted

I was in the process of taking skirting off the wall to install new flooring and discovered what appears to be the backplate of sockets buried in the old skirting, with electrical wires attached to them. I'm assuming this is the remnants of plug sockets but not sure why they're wired up? I also...

Thanks all. The lead mains water pipe exits my house at around 200mm below floor level Therefore the OSV can’t be 750mm below ground level (unless it suddenly takes a really steep drop to join the OSV which I don’t think is plausible)
