    Washing Machine leaking

Thanks for that. I think that when the very wet washing was put in, it could have been so heavy as to pull something loose, but trying to work out what would only leak when the cycle is at it's 'height' with 100% of it's water in.

    Washing Machine leaking

Ok- this is unrelated to the other post I did about a w/m tripping a switch (in fact this problem has come about because of the other problem though - I'll explain.) My sons washer developed a problem last week and he brought all of his wet washing up that weighed a ton, and put it in...

How much to move a van on back of trailer?

Thanks for the heads-up on that , but it just added to my paranoia that I need to find the right place for it. I've just joined a VW forum to ask for recommendations.

How much to move a van on back of trailer?

Hi all, thanks for replies. I probably should have said that I was looking for a 'per miles' kind of price as I am not totally sure where I am going to take it yet, as I am waiting back on 2 emails to see if they would be able to do it. It's a high top camper conversion and otherwise in pretty...

Fitting an O2 sensor to a car?

Yes, I hope so. Mechanic did tell me that faults like that can give OBD a 'pending' reading for quite a while before it puts engine warning light on, if it's not happening every single time you drive etc. So, It might not be 'solved' as such, but light might not show- hopefully if it's not...

How much to move a van on back of trailer?

Hi all - got a T3 Transporter that has an engine problem (its a coolant issue that started when hoses blew on a motorway a few years back - it didn't seize but I suspected it did some internal damage , as it never pulled quite the same and often staled which it never did) Drove it a few times...

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

You've inspired me to go check it out- nothing lost, and if I can see something on there it would be interesting for me if nothing else...

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

It hasn't, but it's not impossible that that has happened - their kitchen is a touch on the damp side behind the cupboards and appliances. I never would have thought of that - thank you very much for all your input on this. Cheers!

Fitting an O2 sensor to a car?

Ok, just to close this thread off - I took it to what I have heard is a decent garage. They put their live data reader on it and he diagnosed the oxygen sensor after the cat,(not sure why that one and not the one before...I didn't ask, becasue it was the same code that my cheap with old machine...

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

Yes, it was and in so doing I've learned a few things. I don't like the 'throw away and buy new one' culture, but sometimes you got to accept it's not viable. I see they are changing various laws in UK to force manufacturers of many devices/appliances to make them more diy friendly (called the...

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

The motor gives good readings, as does the tacho/speed sensor, no shorts. So, guessing pcb , which almost certainly rules out a fix from me, and in terms of costs it doesn't make it an attractive option. Thanks for all your help jj4091 and others, really appreciate having people bounce ideas off...

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

this part is speed sensor I believe - will give machine a go later with this disconnected. (although a faulty one of these wouldn't make me think it would short circuit, it would just not change drum speeds? But having said that, my knowledge is very very limited)

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

When w The 2 red on the motor? The clip itself on the end is moulded and not detachable. Just googled it and it seems that is the tacho coil on the end with the 2 red wires going to it. I will take that off

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

Thanks both. I will have chance to go down there at lunch today. If I can figure out where the sensor and/or inverter are, I will investigate. They certainly are not on the motor body itself , but will be able to track them back.

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

UPADTE - son texted this morning and said it doesn't trip when turned on without the motor in. Not sure why I didn't think to try this yesterday , except I was in a massive hurry to get the motor back home and look for non-existent brushes haha. So, there we have it I think, the motor is...

Intermittent ignition spark on Bosch gas cooker

Hi all - any ideas appreciated. I have 2 rings where the spark is intermittent and I need to use a lighter to get them to catch light. Then they work later on that day, then not, then they do work. Really can't live with it. Any ideas appreciated

    Washing machine blowing trip switch

It's an Indesit machine, probably 7 years old (see pic of motor) Checked the wiring, and by eye it's fine. Apologies, yes, I didn't say what was tripping in there -It's not my consumer unit, it's at my sons house, he sent a pic (all RCCB trips) indesit w/m motor by Fab5Freddy posted 6 Apr...
