It's back!:D It seems the VCR has 3 channels AV1 AV2 and PROG 1 I selected all in turn and did a full TV first installation on all three. AV2 did the trick. However it was AV2 which I used originally so I still don't know why the signal was lost.o_O Many thanks for your time,knowledge and...

Many thanks for that. The tv has always received both signals . The VCR was definitely on I've reset the tv and done all scans, results show zero analogue channels The signal was lost before I did the Freeview retune. If the VM has had an update, would trying a dedicated RF Modulator be helpful...

No alarm, broadband, tv and phone from VM . The incoming telephone sources from external VM box to original BT socket in an upstairs room and then around the house.

Seem to have sorted it. I tried a third different scart lead from vcr to Tivo box, changed the AV outlet and now have all channels including cable in kitchen Don't know why it now works though! Thanks for the input.

Thanks for reply Yes main tv connected via hdmi no problem. ITV etc signal was normal but now failed on terrestrial during heavy rain so likely aerial issue. However I still have no cable signal to kitchen via splitter or when splitter is by-passed. Does the cable signal require boosting? . Tivo...

Update. All channels are now fine on both main and kitchen tvs BUT no cable channel is being received in kitchen "no signal" I've bypassed the splitter box and nothing changes. Any thoughts please?
