    Wrong paint used in bathroom

Is this type of extraction easily installed by a semi competent DIY'er like myself or will I require the services of an electrician?

    Wrong paint used in bathroom

Some good points there thanks John. To be honest no extraction, just window open all times we're at home or showering. Will try rubbing down loose areas and cover with good quality bathroom paint and see how I get on. Thanks again

    Wrong paint used in bathroom

Need some painting advice please guys. Owners before have used plain emulsion on the ceiling in our bathroom and it bubbles above the shower area when it steams up. Will I get away with painting a couple of coats of proper Kitchen bathroom paint here or will I need to seal the current paint...

How can I seal a soil stack entering a flat roof?

At the moment I've made up a temp fix acting as a sort of collar around the soil pipe at the point where it enters my flat felt roof extension. The area around this point leaks and I need to get it sealed. I've looked into getting a pipe collar placed around the pipe and torched on but I...

Will anything stop weeds growing through block paving?

Just spent best part of the day scraping between my block paving to get rid of weeds and it now looks really tidy. I know it's just a matter of time before the weeds attack again so I'd like to ask if anyone can recommend a way or even a product that would permanently keep them from returning...

Outside PIR security light wont switch off

There are no settings on it to adjust its just sensor activated. It's a half lantern style from Homebase Seems to be working ok as it only activates at dusk when I need it to luckily Monitored it last night and there is nothing close by that moves to keep activating it?

Outside PIR security light wont switch off

Thanks will check. Silly question but my car is parked in front of it on the drive and less than 10 ft away from the sensor is this likely to keep triggering it even though it's stationery?

New kitchen mixer making water taste funny?

Not something I expected but a couple months down the line after changing our kitchen mixer the water still tastes a bit 'metallic'. Thought this might clear by now and assumed it was just down to it being a new installation. Is there anything I could try to clear this? I also used flexi...

500w hammer drill OK for occasional masonary work?

Just a bit of drill advice please guys for an amateur DIY'er with a sub £80 budget Seen a Bosch drill rated 500w and wondered that as it would only get occasional use but might need to drill through masonary every now and then. Is this likely to be underpowered for this and would I be better...

Solid wood front door swollen & difficult to open

My solid wood front door has swollen to the point we can barely open or close it. Always seems to happen this time of year and i'm assuming it's down to so much moisture in the air. I want to try and avoid shaving it down as this would cause drafts but wanted to run it past you lot in case...
