Spurting / Air in hot water

Hi oil boffin, have tried your suggestion to no avail. I left the tap running for a good 15 mins but still could hear the air bubbles! Any other ideas on what this could be? I hope it isn't the tap!

Spurting / Air in hot water

Hello everyone I have a rather odd issue in our kitchen tap ... when I turn it on full whack hot (which is what I usually do for washing up), a few seconds later, I can hear the sound of air bubbles within the tap, and the flow is interrupted and the tap spurts slightly. The flow then goes back...

    LEC EL755AW Thermostat - K59-L6057

Hi guys Our larder fridge, a LEC EL755AW seems to have developed a thermostat problem. I've taken it apart and removed the thermostat, and it's marked as a RANCO K59 L6057. I can't find any replacements for it around on the web - it has four pins, two of which are earth pins, and most of the...

    Replacing Loft Insulation

Thanks for your reply John. I was advised by someone at a local plumbers merchant to make a sort of "skirt" around the frame using a couple of black insulation jackets for the water tank. Would this do the job if I went all the way round and taped the gaps, and where it touches the floor, I can...

    Replacing Loft Insulation

Very grateful for your advice Doggit - just to clarify, should I insulate the floor as normal under the water tank (between joists and across the top), and in addition hang some rockwool below the water tank on some netting, up against the wood in the picture? Cheers for your help!

    Replacing Loft Insulation

Hi guys, apologies this is a repeated thread from the Roofing section = posted there by mistake. @Mods, please remove this thread from the roofing section. We've just bought a house and found that the loft doesn't have any insulation in it! I've ordered some rolls of 100mm and 200mm...

    Pyronix Enforcer - Siren Tamper

Thanks for your suggestions on the switch guys, I've been up this morning and took the whole module out. The microswitch looks like the one below. I've put a multimeter on it, and open it reads open as expected, closed the resistance fluctuates between 0.5 and 0.6 ohms. Sparky do you think this...

    Pyronix Enforcer - Siren Tamper

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've checked the panel and the signal is 100 over 5 minutes, and didn't budge from there. Looking at the bell box, there's a battery block top left and a switch below it, sitting in front of a plastic pin which protrudes forwards towards the cover. I've double checked...

    Side hung windows - noise

Thanks everyone for your suggestions - I've sprayed with silicone lubricant (WD40 actually make one, which I didn't realise!), and Gaz, I've whacked some vaseline onto the tabs, so let's see how it goes. A couple of the windows are now behaving, but the others do still appear to be misaligning...

    Pyronix Enforcer - Siren Tamper

Hi all I have a Pyronix enforcer v9.5 panel that I have installed myself. Recently we moved house and the panel/detectors/bell came with us. I re-installed it at the new house back in June and all was well, arming/disarming and communicating by SMS when triggering/tampering as normal. The...

    Side hung windows - noise

Thanks Boss Tried this morning, they're all closing much better now, no snapping, but the gaps between the window and the rubber still remain. Any idea how to remedy this? Thanks again!

    Side hung windows - noise

Hi all we have just purchased a house and moved in a couple of months ago. I have noticed a few things with a few of the windows: - They are ALL side hung - Some of them "stick" when opening - Some of them crack/creak when closing them - Some of them you have to give them a good pull and they...

    Shower Pump / Flow Issue

Hello everyone We've just fitted a new shower pump and a Scudo bar-mixer shower, and have found an odd issue with the pump cutting in. First thing in the morning (after a long time not being used), when the bar-mixer is switched on (either fully hot, fully cold, or mixed hot and cold), no...
