Vertical flue installation - advice needed

Thanks for the advice, those who gave it. I suppose I am quite inexperienced compared to many, having only installed about 50 odd boilers - all of which had horizontal flues. Agile, condensate presents no problems as I can easily tee into the bathroom basin waste which is less than 2' away...

Vertical flue installation - advice needed

Hi I need some advice on the installation of a vertical flue going straight through a pitched roof. I've only ever installed standard horizontal flues before, so to be honest don't have much of a clue. The house currently has a primatic HWC and a one pipe system, all of which is coming...

who to report land lord too.

The landlord is under no obligation to get the appliance serviced, except where it can be proved that death or injury was caused by his failure to do so. All he absolutely must do is get a CP12 every year.

Two wire room thermostat for a combi

If I have a combi to install with an onboard timeswitch, as most of them do, I don't really want to install an expensive programmable roomstat. What options do I have for fitting a simple, volt free roomstat? just about everything I look at is 230V Cheers

Heatline C24 condensing combi - anyone any experience?

I've searched the previous posts and found nothing particularly odd re complaints etc, but has anyone any experience of fitting them and any comments about them at all? They seem to be a bit of a bargain and with a 2 year parts and labour warranty I might give them a go. Any advice...

Still smell gas after tightness test

Regulations state that there must be "no smell of gas" even if a soundness test detects no leakage. Call Transco, might not even be on your property but still must be dealt with.

Jaguar combi boiler - can't find docs

Thanks for the replies. The problem I have with boiler is it's cycling on DHW but works OK on CH - so I am thinking:- 1) Gunged up secondary HE 2) Duff thermister 3) Sticking flow switch I don't think it's likely to be the APS, fan, pump or PCB but would have liked a peek at the docs to...

Jaguar combi boiler - can't find docs

Anyone know where I can download the docs for a Jaguar combi? I believe these are Ideal boilers rebadged for the Plumb Centre (who are no help at all). Ta

    Room Thermostat

Your yellow should come live when there is a call for heat. Check this on the box or back at the wiring centre. If this is the case, then red to common T1), yellow to T3 on the digistat, no earth required.

Replacement Programmer or Addition of Room Stat?

I've given up fitting the CM67, it's just toooo clever by half. "I'm off on holiday" button, "I'm having a party" button - just too many buttons. Optimum start is guaranteed to confuse just about everyone, especially me.

Replacing Ball Valve in Main Water Tank/Cistern

Easy. Just go to a plumbers merchants and ask for a part II valve and float (about £5). Turn off mains. Undo the backing nut, undo the connector. Put in new bits. Turn water on. Adjust float to get the right level then wait for it to be thrown out in 6 weeks.

Heat Exchanger clean - a possibility?

What? you actually used a Kamco powerflusher? I thought you were skint! If you're worried about bypasses etc, why not just connect up directly to the boiler? do you have CH + HW primaries off the HE or just one lot?

Heat Exchanger clean - a possibility?

There definitely is a drain off for the HE - look harder! :)

Heat Exchanger clean - a possibility?

That's what I thought, plus for a massive HE like that to block the whole system must be full of craaaap :D
