i would advise a magnaclean on every job new or old. better to keep a system clean than it is to clean it once its knackered the heat exchanger .so i would say thats good advice. i personally dont think that BG charge that much for the magnaclean installation. £250 and then its covered on...

the standards of the newer members can be bad sometimes .so i would agree you cannot get the staff .

i was commenting on your quote about magnaclean. latest money spinner i think you said. i also worked at bg 20 years and was a QAE for a few years as well so i have also seen the faults but you must know as well as me that the plumbers that we bring into the business are a nightmare.

i am not saying all plumbers please dont get me wrong i know there are many good plumbers about. i have just left BG and started working for my self and when the gas safe guy came and i told him i worked for bg he was very happy. he told me the bg lads are by far the best. i dont mean the ones...

plumbers are more a all rounder. fit bathrooms ,toilets ,and now and again fit boilers /central heating. they couldnt know as much as somebody who has fitted central heating every working day for over 20years

i dont agree .maybe some of the newer recurits (plumbers that we hired in) dont .but most of the older lads know much more. i have worked with central heating for 20 years

how old were the rads ? if i told you all the jobs i had been to after plumbers i would be writing for weeks

they dont get very much for selling a powerflush .think its about £6 and when they get 30k a year anyway there is no need to mis sell

if that was ture and they got found out they would be sacked. i worked there for 20years and yes engineers do sell but if they sell something that is not needed then they would be in deep trouble.

if you knew anything about heating then you would know the magnaclean is a very good bit of kit. i would advise it on all central heating new and old

i am sure most of us can give a fair idea of what the price will be without seeing it. i know a company that do quotes over the phone :shock:
