MagnaClean.

Why have they said you need a powerfush and the latest money spinner ie the magnaclean

if you knew anything about heating then you would know the magnaclean is a very good bit of kit.
i would advise it on all central heating new and old

I
Be a novelty if it actually does

To true!

Heatingeng - You have a high regard for BG engineers! Alot of guys at BG/SG will advise systems need flushing to get out of a s**t job.

if that was ture and they got found out they would be sacked.
i worked there for 20years and yes engineers do sell but if they sell something that is not needed then they would be in deep trouble.

Had 1 last week where cust had a leaking rad (at weld) on a 3 YO combi sys. Was told it had happened because system was full of muck and needed powerflush.

She called me to ask about powerflush. I said prob not necessary so i went to see it. Fired some X800 through it for the sake of cust peace of mind. Rads and sys clean as a whistle.

Quality advise from SG

i am sure most of the lads at scottish gas know a lot more about heating than most plumbers

Is that a serious statement :?:

its a fact

Maybe in the past and on boiler repairs but not anymore and certainly not about systems. They do not have enough experience of systems I personally know around a dozen SG guys and they will tell you the same thing.

i dont agree .maybe some of the newer recurits (plumbers that we hired in) dont .but most of the older lads know much more.
i have worked with central heating for 20 years

New sys installed just under 3 years.
Barlo rountop rad leaking at weld. Faulty rad.
The halfwit even told her she would probably need a new HE

I know a lot of thick plumbers too but SG/BG have their fair share of idiots too.
