Condensation in the extension pitched roof loft

What tiles are on it? Sounds to me like it's leaking. I'd guess its blowing under the tiles and coming through the lath nails.

Just get a roofer to do it? It needs bedding on mortar and can be pointed straight away.

    Help! Badly slated new roof?

I understand what noseall is saying. The odd question is fine but when customers start telling you how to do your job that becomes bloody annoying. Genuine questions are of course no problem, its the ones who want to watch everything all day.

    Help! Badly slated new roof?

It doesn't get much worse than that i'm afraid. Not much more to say than has already been covered. Slates have not been sorted at all, verge overhang is way too much (wind will have them straight off), pretty sure the top course doesn't cover and the eaves looks so so. Wrong flashing kit...

Not the best photo but you should get an idea from this how it should look.

    Sweating roof

I've re-roofed so many that were done in the 70s/80s with that plastic/rubber felt. Most were very condensated to the point it was making the rafters turn white. Can't see much more of an answer than ripping it off.

how to finish row of slates on hipped roof

Yeah i had gathered you were struggling for slates. Regularly have the same problem. A good idea is to cut the chip out (an inch off etc) and use it next to your last cut. Gives you a better fixing for the smaller slate and will never be noticed at the hip.

Also try and avoid and re-laying chipped slates, use them for your cuts.

Leaking down from extended party wall / chimney - pics

Those cracked slabs on top of the wall look a bit deadly! I'd imagine the cement fillet has cracked somewhere. And the ridge look to have no mortar? Are they a dry ridge or is it all just missing? Looks a bit of a tired roof.

Storm damage or new roof failed its first proper test?

It's been caused by c**p work and mortar with a tea-spoon of cement to 10 bags of sand. No storm damage as far as I can see.

    leak where extension meets house

As far as i know those tiles only go down to 15 degrees. Leadwork needs chasing in to the wall and those velux are always going to leak at 12 degrees.

Leaking after new roof (about a year old)

They should give up with lead work! The rest of it seems ok. That green stain in the lead valley looks like its to do with the water struggling to get out due to that bump / poorly dressed bit creating a channel.

Has he used much thicker battens? Or the tiles are a different make and are not keen on interlocking to the old? Pic needed.

Cracked roof tiles - rough cost estimation to replace?

As long as it's not too steep then a roofer should manage without. I always just push tiles up to create a "ladder" to get to the broken tile. Not keen on crawler ladders. Don't do much of it as it just isn't worth falling for 50 quid.

Cracked roof tiles - rough cost estimation to replace?

How high is it? Might end up needing scaffolding or at least a tower.

Modern Tiles or Rosemary plain tiles : Character

All depends on how much money people have to spend. Plain tiles look much nicer. Marley Ashmore are awful tiles.
