iam going to install a potterton boiler which needs a 22mm gas pipe for the incoming pipe. there is 15mm installed at the minute to the old boiler. my question is do i need to upsize it to 22mm which would mean removing cupboards etc. the 15mm installed at the minute is about 3 meters worth...

oh god this sounds more complicated than i first thought. ill have to stick my head in some books then in my own boiler ( not the oven yet) and see what readings/measurements i get from the pump, fan etc. cheers for the help ( i need it )

ive got the manual that came with the multi meter. could you explain what i would be looknig for and how to test for it, say for example. testing to prove a pump was working. or a compent like a switch was working ( what reading come on the multimater ?)

the CH light come on but only for seconds. i repaired the DHW side of the divertor valve of a Baxi80e (new diaphragm) the other day. but on that job the pin wasnt coming out on the divertor valve when the hot water tap was turned on. so it throw me a bit when i seen both pins coming out...

iam gas safe registered but am inexperianced in the repair side of the game. i normally just install but trying to expand and get alot of repair jobs now .

agile, you must be much of a plumber if you cant understand something as simple as this problem. maybe you should stick you head in a book and shut it quickly.

rads warm upstairs but not downstairs. when i turn taps on the boiler fires up(flames can be seen in combustion chamber) when the CH is turn on boilers does not fire up(no flames can be seen) i dont know how the rads are warm upstairs without the boiler firing up there just are.

ok. rads are warm upstairs but when CH on the boiler does not fire up. turn the rads off upstairs to push the hot water downstairs. i thought that i must be heating the CH when the hot water is on and the boiler fires up ??

hot water at all the taps. pressue drops to below 1 bar when cold. i checked the expansion vessel valve and pressed it slighty, air rushed out. does this still mean it could need re-pressurized ? (i know that if water comes out then the expansion vessel if faulty)

Baxi 105e, hot water fine, rads upstairs ok, downstairs cold. turn rads off upstairs and downstairs rad got warmer. when the hot taps are turned on the boiler fires up. when the CH only is on the boiler doesnt fire up ?? plus the temp l.e.d goes upto 80 and the pressure gauge goes upto 3...

so, in brief. am ok to tee into the 15mm but not smaller!!! if its smaller i will have to go back to the manifold. so how do i find the maniflod, byjust lifting the floor boards and following the pipe work ?? how many outlets does the normal maniflod have ? ( 4, 6 ,8 )

am installing a new radiator and wanted to know if i can come off the flow and return pipes from the neasrest radiator or do i have to take it from the manifold ?
