Speedtouch 330: Use or ornament? Parts or paperweight?

I've found a couple of speedtouch 330 modems (the black squarish ones) which I had for broadband years ago. Does anyone know if these have any use or value nowadays? -> I tried to get one working with windows 10 without success (if it has worked I would have had internet in a power cut). ->...

New UPVC Window frame bowed / warped

From the first photos, it looks to me like the red packer at the top right should be about twice as thick. If you loosen the fixing yourself it would be very awkward to as the company back after you have changed it, plus the expanding foam might be holding it in place. That fact that the...

New UPVC Window frame bowed / warped

The frame shouldn't have been pulled out of shape when the fixings were tightened. Have you been able to check it with a spirit level to see which is actually out of place? As far as the tolerance is concerned: do the casements open and close (and lock) as easily as they should? What sort of...

    Memory sticks killed by tablet?

I've ran a version of linux of a CD or DVD in the past. Booting from a different drive is reasonably easy in windows XP, but I you'd have to check the system requirements of the latest version. try-ubuntu-before-you-install I've only come across one memory stick not being recognized (one I...

Need to cut a plastic water butt in half

I'd usually go for a hacksaw or hacksaw blade, but you would need something along the lines of this hacksaw handle for there not to be a frame getting in the way.

Satellite feeds from dish, likely set up?

If both the lounge connections provide a signal, the it could be only those two connected. Other than that it is testing every access point and following the cables around the loft.

Satellite feeds from dish, likely set up?

It is sounding like they put in a load of cables for satellite feeds and they were never connected or they never upgraded the LNB to have the number of outputs required. If you haven't got any standard TV sockets, (I think) you could use the existing satellite cable to connect either a loft...

Satellite feeds from dish, likely set up?

Have you checked to see if the internal connection points are connected to anything? It sounds like the two cables from the dish/LNB both go to your lounge. As @Lucid said, it is one cable per tuner - usually one tuner to watch and one tuner to record.

Washing lines (pole to pole) with pulleys?

What have you been searching for online? You could try looking for steam pipe, this on is just under £60 for 4m and delivery seems reasonable: pipedreamfittings.com/product/galvanised-steel-pipe-tube-threaded/ Security fencing posts is another option, £65 for 3m (or 3.75?) ...

Should you use weak sand and cement mix when pointing so it is sacrificed?

You don't necessarily a weak mix, but weaker than the bricks around it as it is easier to replace the pointing than it is to replace a brick.

Can someone help me source a door for this loft hatch??

You can always attach some insulation to the top/loft side of it and some draft proofing around the edge.
