    LED 2D Replacements

Yes but I'd have to look in the van for the ones I use. They're proving reliable. Standard stock in CEF anyways.

Bosch Dishwasher E15 code now tripping electrics

You might have got water inside the motor when you tilted the machine. Water on floor suggests obviously that water is leaking in to the base and I believe E15 is the error message to say the base is filling with water. I had one where the motor started smoking after getting water into it. Once...

Gas Oven flame Low - Oven doesn't get much above 140c

My guess is there'll be a thermostat that has failed. I have a range cooker with two ovens. One lights up but stays on pilot, which is what I think is happening here. I think it'll be the thermostat, but since the other oven works I've not bothered repairing it yet.

    Electric storage heaters

Some of the air con units on the market these days, the ones with reversible pumps for heating, they claim amazing efficiency. I've seen one for around a grand that's over SCOP 5. I think that means 500% plus efficiency although I admit I haven't done the real homework on them. I'm looking for...

    Beko Dishwasher leaking into base

Do you mean the water is getting through the motor seal and underneath, into where the actual motor and various electric components are situated?

    Beko dishwasher

I see now. I haven't had this problem but a quick look on the web leaves me certain that you're correct in suggesting the solenoid which is also called a water inlet valve. Likely it's passing a little when closed due to limescale deposits inside the component. Youtube videos show how to change...

    Beko dishwasher

Which is a relatively easy job, should that be the case.

    Beko dishwasher

Is it filling constantly and emptying at the same time whilst trying to run a cycle? If so then the flowmeter requires replacing.

    Beko dishwasher

I believe I misinterpreted this to mean water in the base of the machine. i.e. underneath where the motor and pump are housed. I've had a couple of drinks now so will read again tomorrow.

    Beko dishwasher

The pump seal gets grimy and then starts to leak in to the base. It can be cleaned or preferably changed (change it) but requires taking the machine base off. How far were you planning to go with this job? There are videos on Youtube where you can see generally what's involved in taking these...

Drains blocked under road by previous owner

Yes but surely Thames Water would inform you in advance of the work should they decide to charge for the job.

Drains blocked under road by previous owner

So the water authority have made it worse. Here's a section on the changes made to drainage rules in October 2011. It's not Thames Water but still the same rules apply. https://www.southernwater.co.uk/sewer-ownership-changes I suspect they're just trying it on but I'm no expert. I know that...

    Lead lined guttering

When I get chance to get the ladders back up there I'll take a pic. They're the so called Yorkshire Stone tiles and will be very old so I'm not keen on removing or trying to lift them as they may crack or, could turn into a bigger job anyway.

    Lead lined guttering

Hi, Guttering question. My house is about 150 years old and the guttering is a trough built into the top of the wall. Stone tiles on the roof and the gutter doesn't protrude over the edge. I don't know what you call this system but it's lead lined and I don't think it's sound. The lead doesn't...

    Manrose extractor replaced, doesn't work

P Initial fault on the motor of the old fan may have caused the transformer secondary (12v side) to also fail. Lit up means there's mains to the unit but doesn't guarantee that the transformer is working. A new fan is unlikely to be faulty. Can happen of course but more likely the wiring as...

    Manrose extractor replaced, doesn't work

If it's AC then I'm certain it would work either way around but I wouldn't swap the wires and I don't think for one minute that it would make a difference anyway. 12v AC is ELV (extra low voltage) so it's reasonably safe to be able to test the fan supply wiring live with a voltmeter or...

    Manrose extractor replaced, doesn't work

I couldn't see that model online. Saw a XF100LV. The fan is 12v AC is it? I assume the transformer is correct. Do you own a multimeter?
