    What do you like and dislike about the GD Forum

    I don't care for the 'like' button on a debate forum as it often turns into a weapon. Other than that, I prefer forums with a light mod touch. Folks shouldn't be too thin skinned or take themselves so seriously.

    Flue liner.

    Currently weighing up my own competence for this one. It's a old corner chimney on a brick stack and my ladders reach it easily. I've had the cap off and can see it's got a 5" gas liner in there. As I said, weighing up. Ideally I'll get the liner fitted professionally but not for silly money...

    Last stove installation I had was £900. Stove extra and the regular grade of flexible liner rather than the more expensive. Took two of them about two hours, allow another hour for driving perhaps. Let's say, two people and half a day's work. Quite an hourly rate.

    Does a HETAS installer actually need to fit the liner/stove in order to sign it off? My initial guess would have been yes unless you know them pretty well. I'm curious as I have an old Rayburn Royal which I intend to fit. Trying to work out at present which parts of the job I can do. How to keep...
