    Ive been Flashed today ....

Do you really have to receive the notice of speeding within 14 days?? A friend of mine was caught speeding on the motorway a couple of years ago - a couple of days under 6 months later she got her letter through the post..... She was in a leased work car, did that make any difference??

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

We've been pondering what is best to do... it would be easier to just go straight across from where the leak was to the tap in the kitchen, into the concrete. However the downside to this is that he would be cutting through the damp proof course as the pipe is below it..... :? Otherwise...

OH did think of getting plastic piping but was a bit wary cos it will be going close to the boiler so he got copper piping. Do you mean that even if our washing machine is hot and cold fill its ok to use it without the hot..... would the machine heat the water up?? I always use it on economy...

We've got lino in the bathroom so I wasnt aware of any wetness till OH pulled the lino up and...

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

Well, progress has been made....... we have discovered the leak!! It is going from the hot water tank to the tap as someone suggested. As luck would have it we found it very quickly as my potatoes were on the floor above the concrete and I couldnt work out why they were warm :shock...

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

Well having got nowhere since the last posting, I reread all the postings and realised that there could be a leak in a pipe between the hot water tank and the taps (I misread it before to read between the boiler and the hot water tank). We have now found out that some of the hot water pipes are...

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

I will get hubby to check the thermostat thing when he gets home from work :) After the waters been on, all 3 pipes coming from/leading to the tank are hot, and for as long as the one at the top is hot, the water is hot. (this probably isnt relevant but thought I'd mention it!!)

Only changed the clock when the clocks changed ( if you get what I mean) have also, tried it on constant water rather than timed water for a short period but didnt seem to make any difference. This morning I left the heating off but left the water on timed as usual but it was still cold by...

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

Is that the thing that moves round according to whether the water / heating is on etc?? If so we put a new one on only a couple of months ago..... how could it be that? Meaning, how could that affect the water going cold...??

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

I dont think they do - they go straight up from the boiler in the kitchen to the airing cupboard above and we can see the pipes for the most of the way.

Water doesnt seem to stay hot

When the water is on (ie. timer is on and boiler fires up etc) the hot water is HOT. However it doesnt seem to stay hot..... It goes off about 7.30 am and by midday the water in the hot taps is lukewarm, and by late afternoon its as cold as in the cold taps. This has only started happeningover...

radiators on but heating is off?

We often find that in the summer when the heating is off, the radiator in the bathroom warms up when the hot water is on!!! Not really a problem as its often nice to have that bit of extra heat in the bathroom even if it is summer.
