    when we did a similar job we used the 6" solids on the inside and the stone front and top. just remember good deep footings and weepholes. we got are stone 1ton at a time.

    Also ask to see some previous work,i carry a portfolio of photos when i price jobs to show the client.

    why would you walk away if they said angle grinder? i have been doing this years and have always used a grinder except on stone of course. just make sure if youve got close neighbours they use dust extators attatched to the grinder. using the right equipment gets the job done right.

    i use a pointmaster gun,big yellow piston type,they hold more mortar and you dont get hand ache from the constant pumping of a caulking type gun. to get a good flowing run and to make sure it fills to void properly it needs to be made quite wet,a bit like readybrek,so do it on a fairly dry...

    wicks bricklaying mortar is 1 to 6 i think and would not be strong enough. you need to use 1 to 3 or 1 to 4.

    if its smooth red brick then £14,rough textured brick is £18. this is the labour only prices and materials are on top but for a 3 bed semi your only looking at £150 on these hope this helps.
