Switch connection for 2 x lights one switch

Thanks Steve, but I'm getting muddled - so I have the incoming mains and connect the brown from this to LI, and add a loop of Brown to the next L1, giving me power to both switches from one mains in. The Mains incoming blue and the outgoing lighting blues - if they are all together...

    Portable 230/240v power

I am guessing this is best put here as it involves 230/240 v supplies. I have a 3000w output generator of no name (old- no stickers or stamps) which has 2 connections on it as the builders use - the round style sockets. 1 x 110v and 1 x 230v I want this to feed 230v to the back of my...

    Mid sized van recommendation ?

After a van in 3/4 weeks. I think a swb Transit size will be too big, and a Connect size will be too small. Are there any in between sizes ? anything you recommend or avoid ? Only have around 4k total inc vat to play with but want reliability and economy, as well as looking half decent...

Power tool makes to avoid ?

Didn't even consider DeWalt - they seem to have gone the route of selling the name as opposed to quality these days. Ryobi look to be quite good big-all, dont think I need all the extra tools though :) Seems to me they only do 1.7ah batteries ?

Ah - sorry BAS, been trawling van reviews and got every name intermixed in my head - Ford Connect ! The more I think of things to put into the van the more I think it needs to be bigger though ! Thinking about it further - things like the power tools I can most likely get away with cordless...

Zanussi washing machine - transit bolts ?

Thanks Leccy, removed the bolts and checked underneath the motor (nothing) and beneath the top just in case. Jiggled things around a bit and it looked to be all free - stuck it on a spin cycle to check and now it runs as smooth as you like :D Maybe the transit bolt instructions were...

Zanussi washing machine - transit bolts ?

Just recieved new Zanussi ZWF14380W washing machine In the manual it says remove any transit brackets or bolts before use. It says nothing on if or where any are fitted or what type, and the Zanussi website is pretty useless when it comes to support. Just had a first light load...

    Garden sprayer - knapsack ?

Problem solved, pressurised sprayers now in hand and no - I did not need to ask the Fire and Rescue services for their advice on what make or model of sprayer to use  I am sure they do, but as I do this professionally they are involved in the notification and planning of every display...

    New Apprentices!!!

Our regular forces have enough on their plates already without being forced to watch over unwilling 'volunteers' for a couple of years I reckon. I wouldn't want to trust my life to anyone who didn't want to be there - who had no choice but to be there - was only working out their ticket . . ...
