    Transformer/Converter

Any not very nice replies was due to the incorrect phrasing of my post, and I apologise for that. What I should have posted is that I need a transformer to to step the voltage down from 230v AC to 12v AC. I then need to convert that 12V AC to 12V DC. The unit I want to run takes 70W DC. It...

    New shower pump

Yes, I understand. It is an MCB on a radial circuit, going to the FCU for the Immersion Heater. I know it is not part of a ring circuit.

    New shower pump

I feel the cylinder is big enough and the cold tank is a large one. The Immersion Heater have a 13A FCU (not a spur) supplied from the Consumer Unit. That FCU, is the nearest point from which I could run another FCU to supply the pump which takes 435W at almost 2A. If that is not feasible, I...

    Transformer/Converter

I note all the comments, and the not very nice ones are due to my error. The phrasing I used. I should say a transformer to step down from 230v AC to 12v AC. Then convert from AC to 12v DC. The project is to run a 12v 70W lamp.

    Transformer/Converter

Hi I am planning a project which will need a 230v AC transformer, stepping down to 12v DC, in order to provide 70W DC output, giving me 6A. So far, I am not able to find such transformer. Or I may not be able to find one cheap enough in relation to the project's worth. So, alternatively, it...

    New shower pump

Thanks to everyone for replies. All advices taken into account. There was one error in my first post. I rechecked and found its not a trickle. Its a flow, but a low flow. If it was coming from a tap it would be Okay. I have taken advice to get a Monsoon, but as it is only feeding one shower...

    New shower pump

Many thanks for helpful/useful replies. Space for the pump is right next to hot water cylinder so may be a Monsoon 1.5 or 2.0 Bar, Twin pump, should be sufficient ?. At the moment when the shower is in the holder, minimal water comes out, a trickle.

    New shower pump

Hello guys My central heating is of the conventional type, water tank in the loft, cylinder in cupboard. Pressure is low for the bath/shower mixer. I consider fitting a Techflo Twin Pump should be sufficient. Any advice on that please. Thank you. Nitell

    Gutter at Gable end

No, the valley is not leaking. When the debris builds up and it rains it overflow the gutter as explained. As the Council has now indicated an interest, I will see how it goes.

Hello guys, I have had a drawing done for a garage and the main door will be accessible from a communal Accessway. I am not sure if I will need a window in the Gable on the opposite (garden) side. If during construction I want to include that window, would I need to alter the plan, send in a...

    Gutter at Gable end

Many thanks for your replies. Please see required info attached. DSC 0394 is the with downpipe next to the Gable. No problem there. DSC 0397 is the problem one with the downpipe at the far end of the adjoining property. Here some water go into the downpipe. The pitch is not enough so the...

    Gutter at Gable end

Hello to all The front roof of my house has a Gable with a short of gutter about 40 mm. The gutters from the nieghbours, on both sides run to each side of my Gable/gutter. The pitch in the slope of one of my neighbour's gutter leading to his downpipe is insufficient, and allow most of the...

    Which Slate

Hello guys I have been looking at slates to use on new build garage roof. The Brazilian Alpina Natural Slate prices range from 400X200 @ £0.40 to 500/600X450 @ £4.18. They are all described as 1st Quality a bit confusing to me. I will have to consider both prices and durability. Can...

    Power, but no lights

Have power now, it was the plug/socket. Now there is another problem. In attempting to solve it I have checked the pump/filter for blockage, twice. The machine switches ON and water goes into the soap box. But for the time it was running, it does not seem to be enough water when I disconnected...

Removing asbestos sheets and build walls

Hello I have a garage which is 100mm from the neighbouring fence. It has asbestos roof and side panels. I plan to remove all the sheets. On the side with the 100mm gap I will build a 250mm (10inch) wall on the garage forndation. On the opposite side extend by same amount by constructing the...
