    Fuel filter change

OK it says on the front left-hand corner of the fuel tank and to jack up the rear of the car and support it on axle stands. Petrol. I can get a couple of bulldog clips actually that should help minimise the loss.

    Fuel filter change

Hi I'm about to change the fuel filter on the mk4 fiestas. Does anyone know whereabouts the filter is located and if there are any particular tips or tools I could do with knowing/buying before I start. Seems very simple according to the haynes manual although my only real concern is fuel...

Spark plug change - what tools do I need

Getting a 3/8" torque wrench for things like spark plugs and thermostat housing - is the Draper 34570 Ratchet Torque Wrench 3/8" Square Drive good enough in your opinion? Thanks. Will also get a 1/2" one for higher torques like the roadwheel nuts.

    Time for a CD player

Hi I've decided it's time to replace the factory fitted cassette radio in my 1.3 2001 fiesta with a nice shiny new CD player, and at the moment the Blaupunkt Seville mp38 http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/blaupunkt-sevilla-mp38-p-6456.html is my favourite. Could someone please advise as to how...

    Engine noise

Just a quick question - my fiesta 01 1.3 makes a kind of whistling or high pitched sound when slightly depressing the accelerator pedal, it only seems to do it when it's slightly depressed as any further or foot off the pedal and it can't be heard. Also in neutral can't hear it. We have a 2000...

Spark plug change - what tools do I need

OK i've passed the info on. With it only being some grime/dust (and not much I must add) that fell in is there any way to clean it out with say an additive to prevent a more serious problem? Nothing like a bolt fell in I hope! And if so fuel or oil additive?

Spark plug change - what tools do I need

Thanks I've just bought the Draper Expert 29362 Metric Chrome Vanadium Socket Set 30pcs. Planning on investing in a torque wrench and trolley jack soon too. Just a quick question - how important is it to prevent debris falling into the cylinder when you're changing the spark plugs, what...

Fiesta failed MOT on brake pipe and suspension bushes

I've just looked in my haynes manual and it says that for rear wheel alignment "figures are provided in the specifications for rear wheel camber and toe-setting for reference only. No adjustment is possible". Therefore is 4 wheel alignment necessary? I did have a problem with the front being out...

Fiesta failed MOT on brake pipe and suspension bushes

Good news, I found a quote for £140, plus another £30 for an MOT test. It's repaired now and has passed its MOT. What would be a decent price for a 4 wheel alignment for my car do you reckon?

Fiesta failed MOT on brake pipe and suspension bushes

By phoning many independent garages and comparing quotes I've got the total cost of repairs to £170 which I think is a lot more like it! Booked in for monday morning. Definitely worth ringing round

Fiesta failed MOT on brake pipe and suspension bushes

I'm starting to wonder how I ever got by without this site! I've just this minute got back in from taking my 01 fiesta flight for it's MOT which expires on the 8/8/08 and it's failed on 3 things. 1. Offside front brake pipe excessively corroded 2. Nearside front (rear bush) suspension...

    Empty coolant reservoir - help!!

I flushed the old coolant out and took out the expansion tank and gave it a good clean - the system was filthy though and it was impossible to get all the rust and deposits out even after several flushes. Anyway got new coolant in it now and replaced + sealed the thermostat gasket so stopped the...

    New tyres

Hi thanks for all your help everyone. The wheelnut key worked fine, and I've now got 4 brand new Continental EcoContact 3 tyres - although I've not done much driving they feel a lot better and the balancing has vastly reduced the vibration in the steering wheel. So far I'd definitely recommend...
